The Team
Norton Rose Fulbright are seeking a Tax Manager to cover maternity leave on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is an opportunity to be part of a team of thirteen tax and accounting professionals. The team is based in London and works on territories across Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia, with responsibility for providing tax advisory and compliance services to the firm and assisting across all partner tax and financial matters.
The role will primarily be focused on UK partnership and partner personal tax matters. The Tax Manager will report to the Head of Partner Affairs and Tax.
The Role
This role would suit someone with strong compliance and operational skills. The successful candidate will be heavily involved in preparing and submitting UK tax returns and then latterly in wider partnership and tax reserving tax issues. Flexibility is needed with a ‘hands-on’ approach particularly during busy periods.
Key Responsibilities
- UK tax returns including
- preparation and/or review of partners’ UK tax returns including amendments to provisional returns filed for the previous tax year
- support to junior members of the UK tax compliance team including review of tax returns
- preparation of base information and checklists for the next cycle of tax return preparation in 2027
- management of UK tax payments and liaising with accounting team to accurately post to general ledgers
- Cashflow forecasting and communication to key stakeholders in the business.
- Preparation of Double Tax Relief (DTR) calculations
- Support on Partner Tax Reserve reconciliations
- Support to global mobility team advising on tax implications of remote working
- Ad hoc queries
Key Skills and Experience
Required:
- ACA/ACCA/CTA (or overseas equivalent) qualified is a strong preference
- Practical experience of UK Partnership Tax and working in a professional services environment
- Personal Tax experience, including UK partner returns reporting profits from partnerships
- Ability to plan, prioritize and manage own workload under pressure to ensure deadlines are met
- Ability to manage junior members of staff
- Strong communication skills
- Self-review, discipline and attention to detail
- High and focused energy levels and a flexible approach
- Strong experience in the use of Excel- INDEX MATCH, Pivot tables etc.

- International tax experience
- Experience of partner tax reserving
