North America Tax Manager 

In this role you will be fully in the lead and ensure that Adyen's North America (US/Canada) tax function is well set up for our continued growth and expansion in the North American market. You are proactive, practical and gain a lot of energy from improving, automating and scaling. You’ve a growth mindset and affinity with data & technology and use it for coming up with solutions. 

You will report to the Global Head of Tax and be part of the centralized, Amsterdam-based tax team, which is made up of colleagues in Indirect Tax, Wage Tax, Tax Data & Technology, International Tax & Transfer Pricing. 

You will be

  • Fully in the lead for all North America tax matters, including compliance
  • Review our current North America tax set-up and ensure it’s well structured for our continued growth and expansion
  • Always look for ways of optimizing processes and automating manual tasks to ensure the North America tax function (incl. related compliance) is as efficient as possible
  • Monitor and proactively address and implement changes in North America tax legislation
  • Analyze the North America tax aspects of our (new) products 
  • Implementing the outcome of your tax analysis
  • Review and sign-off on tax returns, including review of tax provisions
  • Deal with tax audits, as and when they arise
  • Interact with stakeholders across multiple functions and regions; including the wider finance organization, as well as Product managers, Country, Account Managers and tax authorities

  • You excel at partnering with cross-functional teams to embed tax into product development and operational strategies, driving scalable and future-proof solutions
  • You’re not afraid to think out-of-the box and are able to come up with creative solutions
  • You have a mindset of constantly improving, automating and scaling
  • You’re a go-getter, take ownership and are not afraid of doing the work yourself and do things outside your comfort zone
  • You’ve experience with data and tax technology and use this to come up with solutions
  • You have proven experience with North America
  • You thrive in a rapidly-changing environment
  • In-house experience, and an exposure to the digital economy/financial institutions is a plus
