Purpose of role
As a Talent Acquisition Associate, you are beginning your career in talent acquisition, supporting the team in delivering high-quality hiring solutions while learning the fundamentals of the process. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and development opportunities, allowing you to gradually take on more responsibilities and grow into a well-rounded Talent Acquisition professional.
You will assist in sourcing and engaging candidates, supporting hiring managers, and ensuring a positive candidate experience while adhering to the pillars of being technology-enabled, candidate-centric, consultative partners, and cost-effective (minimizing agency reliance).
This role is a 6 month fixed term contract.
Responsibilities:Learning and Supporting Talent Acquisition Activities:
Partner with Senior Talent Acquisition team members to understand hiring needs and recruitment strategies.
Shadow team members to learn how to source, screen, and engage with candidates effectively.
Assist in writing and posting job descriptions under supervision, ensuring they are inclusive and engaging.
Conduct initial outreach to candidates via platforms like LinkedIn or job boards, learning how to represent the organization professionally.
Candidate Pipeline Support:
Begin building a pipeline of candidates for junior-level roles by learning sourcing techniques and tools.
Conduct basic CV reviews and flag potential matches for open roles to senior team members.
Support candidate communication by scheduling interviews, sending confirmations, and providing status updates.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with hiring managers, under the guidance of senior team members, to understand role requirements and job expectations.
Begin participating in intake meetings with managers to observe and learn how to define hiring needs effectively.
Technology-Enabled Practices:
Learn to use applicant tracking systems (ATS), such as Greenhouse, to track candidates, update data, and manage workflows.
Support reporting needs by maintaining accurate data in the ATS and learning to pull basic reports for the team.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion:
Learn and adopt best practices for embedding DE&I principles into sourcing and candidate evaluation.
Assist in sourcing diverse talent under the guidance of senior team members.
Cost-Effective Practices:
Focus on direct sourcing and internal talent pools to minimize reliance on external recruitment agencies.
Assist in monitoring agency usage and costs to align with the team’s cost-effectiveness goals.
Key Skills & Experience:
0-2 years of talent acquisition experience; with strong sourcing skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) and a willingness to learn applicant tracking systems and sourcing platforms.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with guidance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
Commitment to accuracy in entering candidate data, scheduling, and communications.
A self-starter with a curious and growth-oriented attitude, eager to take initiative and learn.
