Purpose of role

As a Talent Acquisition Associate, you are beginning your career in talent acquisition, supporting the team in delivering high-quality hiring solutions while learning the fundamentals of the process. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and development opportunities, allowing you to gradually take on more responsibilities and grow into a well-rounded Talent Acquisition professional.


You will assist in sourcing and engaging candidates, supporting hiring managers, and ensuring a positive candidate experience while adhering to the pillars of being technology-enabled, candidate-centric, consultative partners, and cost-effective (minimizing agency reliance).

This role is a 6 month fixed term contract.

Responsibilities:

Learning and Supporting Talent Acquisition Activities:

  • Partner with Senior Talent Acquisition team members to understand hiring needs and recruitment strategies.

  • Shadow team members to learn how to source, screen, and engage with candidates effectively.

  • Assist in writing and posting job descriptions under supervision, ensuring they are inclusive and engaging.

  • Conduct initial outreach to candidates via platforms like LinkedIn or job boards, learning how to represent the organization professionally.


Candidate Pipeline Support:

  • Begin building a pipeline of candidates for junior-level roles by learning sourcing techniques and tools.

  • Conduct basic CV reviews and flag potential matches for open roles to senior team members.

  • Support candidate communication by scheduling interviews, sending confirmations, and providing status updates.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with hiring managers, under the guidance of senior team members, to understand role requirements and job expectations.

  • Begin participating in intake meetings with managers to observe and learn how to define hiring needs effectively.


Technology-Enabled Practices:

  • Learn to use applicant tracking systems (ATS), such as Greenhouse, to track candidates, update data, and manage workflows.

  • Support reporting needs by maintaining accurate data in the ATS and learning to pull basic reports for the team.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion:

  • Learn and adopt best practices for embedding DE&I principles into sourcing and candidate evaluation.

  • Assist in sourcing diverse talent under the guidance of senior team members.

Cost-Effective Practices:

  • Focus on direct sourcing and internal talent pools to minimize reliance on external recruitment agencies.

  • Assist in monitoring agency usage and costs to align with the team’s cost-effectiveness goals.


Key Skills & Experience:
  • 0-2 years of talent acquisition experience; with strong sourcing skills.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) and a willingness to learn applicant tracking systems and sourcing platforms. 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with guidance. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and approachable manner. 

  • Commitment to accuracy in entering candidate data, scheduling, and communications. 

  • A self-starter with a curious and growth-oriented attitude, eager to take initiative and learn.
