Prepare, review and submit Syndicate financial statements under US GAAP; reconcile ledger accounts; ensure accurate reporting to Group and regulators; analyse performance and variances; coordinate with auditors and actuaries; support finance transformation and maintain robust financial controls for Lloyd's Syndicate operations.
We are seeking a skilled Syndicate Financial Controller to join our organisation’s Group finance team, specifically supporting our newly established Lloyd’s Syndicates. This includes being able to service the full suite of financial and regulatory reporting. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of Syndicate financial reporting, adhering to internal accounting
policies under US GAAP, taking ownership of Corporate Member financial statements, and supporting the fulfilment of external regulatory requirements. As our ideal candidate, you will bring deep expertise from a Lloyd’s Syndicate.

Some of the key tasks may include:
- Lead on the review, audit and filling of the Syndicate financial statements in accordance with statutory requirements and US GAAP.
- Support internal Convex teams with Lloyd’s reporting requirements.
- Have a financial control mindset, developing and embedding appropriate, effective controls. This includes compliance with our internal SOX programme.
- Assume responsibility for Syndicate reporting including its contribution to the to the Group and BMA regulator.
- Analyse financial performance and variances, providing insights and commentary for management and the Audit Committee (AC) to facilitate better decision making and explore subjective technical accounting matters.
- Coordinate with auditors, internal departments, and external actuaries to ensure successful audit outcomes and data integrity.
- Effectively collaborate with third party outsource providers to ensure repeatable processes are documented and migrated.
- Develop a full qualitative understanding of the business.
- Support system developments and finance transformation projects as required.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience in the Lloyd’s Insurance Market, working within a Syndicate
- Deep understanding of Syndicate accounting processes.
- Highly proficient in using finance systems and knowledge of data warehousing and reporting tools is advantageous.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to stakeholders at various levels internally and externally.
- Independent self-starter whilst also able to nurture deep relationships and influence across the business and externally.
- Robust problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
- Experience with auditors and regulatory bodies is preferred.
