OVERVIEW:

The Vice President/Senior Vice President of Group Strategy will be responsible for shaping and executing Sportradar’s strategic initiatives with a strong focus on transforming the company into a platform business. Reporting directly to the EVP Growth, this role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate complex challenges, work cross-functionally, and lead transformative change across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in strategy, corporate development, and transformation, with a passion for sports, technology, AI and innovation.


THE CHALLENGE:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of Sportradar's global strategy, with a particular focus on transitioning the company to a platform business model that can scale and adapt to future growth opportunities.
  • Corporate Development: Work closely with the M&A department, Start-Up Unit, Data & Insights (including BI), and PMO to drive corporate development across all business units. Ensure close collaboration with operational business units to align strategy with execution.
  • Transformation Initiatives: Lead large-scale transformation projects, including the overhaul of business models and operating models. Drive change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption and implementation of strategic changes. Work closely with our Technology and AI teams to leverage cutting-edge solutions during these transformations and other key projects.
  • Market Analysis & Growth Opportunities: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify new opportunities, industry trends, and competitive dynamics. Develop strategies to capitalize on these insights and drive sustainable growth.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Partner with the M&A team to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic acquisitions, mergers, and partnerships that support the company's platform business strategy. Oversee integration efforts to ensure seamless alignment with Sportradar's objectives.
  • Innovation & New Ventures: Incubate and develop new business ventures and innovation initiatives that align with Sportradar’s strategic goals. Foster an entrepreneurial mindset within the team and across the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including Product, Technology, Sales, Marketing, and Finance, to ensure that strategic initiatives are effectively communicated, understood, and executed across the company.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead high-performing project teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement KPIs and performance metrics to track the success of strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Communication: Serve as a key spokesperson for the company's strategic vision, communicating effectively with the board of directors, investors, and other key stakeholders.


YOUR PROFILE:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s, or equivalent) in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, corporate development, or a related field, with at least 4 years at a top strategic consultancy.
  • Proven experience leading transformation projects, including business model transformation, operating model redesign, and change management.
  • Experience in the sports, technology, media, and/or betting/iGaming industries is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute complex strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Transformation Expertise: Extensive experience in driving large-scale transformations, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities involved in shifting to a platform business model. Experience working closely with Technology and AI teams to implement these changes is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data and information into actionable insights.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams, with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and results-driven execution.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among senior executives and other key stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate and operate effectively in a global, multicultural environment, with a deep understanding of international markets and dynamics.
