Support Services Manager

📍Leicester

💼 Permanent | full-time | office based | competitive salary

Mattioli Woods is a respected, FCA-regulated wealth management firm — and behind our client-facing work is an operations function that keeps everything moving. We're looking for a Support Services Manager to lead that function in Leicester.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll manage day-to-day operations, develop your team, own supplier relationships and play an active part in how we integrate and scale, — including supporting acquisition activity as we continue to grow.

What you'll be doing:

  • leading daily operations: — morning briefings, task allocation, post handling and team priorities
  • holding regular 1-1s, reviews and performance conversations that genuinely help people grow
  • designing and implementing training plans and building a team culture known for progression
  • managing key supplier relationships and contracts, including Royal Mail and franking agreements
  • supporting merger integration: — facilitating planning discussions and ensuring acquired businesses are onboarded smoothly
  • spotting inefficiencies and leading improvement initiatives from start to finish

What we're looking for:

  • proven people management experience: — you coach, develop and hold your team to high standards
  • strong organisational skills and the ability to stay calm when priorities compete
  • clear, credible communication at all levels – with your team, senior stakeholders and external partners
  • a proactive, solutions-focused approach; — you don't wait to be asked
  • the resilience to handle escalations and make sound decisions independently
  • experience in a service environment; financial services is a bonus

Why this role?

This isn't a back-office position, — it's a leadership role with real autonomy, genuine strategic involvement and the opportunity to shape how a growing team operates. If you want to make a visible impact and develop people in a growing organisation, this is worth a conversation.
