Supply Chain Manager

What will this role achieve?

This is an exciting and impactful role, crucial to delivering value to our Manchester Bakery through the strategic leadership of the Supply Chain function at site. The Manchester Bakery is going through a period of significant growth, fuelled by exciting investment, so this role will be a key part in driving the success of a busy and exciting Supply Chain program.

The successful candidate will lead a team of Supply Chain professionals covering MRP, ERP, labour planning and production planning to deliver an end-to-end Supply Chain service at site, handling some of pladis’ most iconic brands in the UK and across the globe. The role also has accountability for our warehousing operation, managing the flow of goods in and out across a 24/7 operation. The Supply Chain Manager role plays a pivotal part in shaping and managing our manufacturing footprint and will be responsible for ensuring that our customer commitments are paramount through delivery of consistent internal and external service KPI’s, whilst ensuring that the financial impact of our Supply Chain operation enables the delivery of our site budget. In addition this role will play a key part of the Senior Leadership Team at site, responsible for building and delivering the Manchester Strategic Ambition to ensure our factory remains at the forefront of the pladis operation.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Motivate and inspire Supply Chain team to deliver day-to-day operation
  • Responsible for owning the site medium term plan and taking proactive decisions based on trends available to ensure high customer service and effective labour management
  • Stakeholder / conduit to central business to represent site interests
  • Manchester Leadership team member
  • Working with packaging, ingredient and agency suppliers to optimise inbound operation, identifying and improving key supply challenges
  • Inventory management of both raw materials and finished goods to ensure effective management of cost and working capital
  • Team Development, succession planning, coaching to deliver High Performing Team who operate as a cross skilled, self-sufficient team
  • Accountability to ensure the most efficient labour model to meet factory volume profile, ever- evolving and optimised to ensure cost optimisation
  • Accountability for the safe and efficient operation of our Warehousing operation, focused on Right First Time delivery of our incoming ingredients and finished goods
  • Supporting our Fit for the Future agenda through proactive management of Supply Chain capital funnel and supporting site-wide capital expenditure delivery.

  • Optimised production plan, coordinating regular and ad-hoc activities to ensure that full site agenda is achieved

Bring your experience.

Essential

  • Motivated and passionate about Supply Chain Management with a positive, solution-focused character
  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain processes in FMCG or similar industry – S&OP, Demand Planning, MRP etc.
  • Track record of operating and delivering results in a fast-paced working environment
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across all levels on site and the business
  • Ability to handle large amounts of data and action quickly to drive actions and results
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams & initiatives as part of overall Site Leadership responsibilities
  • Experience of managing and developing individuals and teams through coaching, mentoring and team building.
  • Effective Communication & presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex data or messages to stakeholders at all levels
