Subscription Telephone Sales Executive
Office-based: Basildon, Essex
25 hours per week, Monday to Friday
1:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Are you someone who is looking for a new challenge whilst reducing your working week? If so, this may be the perfect role for you. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who is a strong listener and great at identifying how they can improve our customers' experience.

We are Newsquest Media, one of the UK’s leading publishers of local newspapers and magazines, and ensuring that our customers get the best from their Newspaper and Magazine subscriptions is key to this role. Working in a small team, you will be talking through subscription benefits, building rapport and creating opportunities to discuss other promotional opportunities.

If you have experience in customer-based positions, are a great conversationalist and have an interest in Media we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Talking through subscription benefits with customers.
  • Building rapport and maintaining a positive customer experience.
  • Discussing promotional opportunities where appropriate.
  • Ensuring customers get the best value from their newspaper and magazine subscriptions.
  • Working effectively as part of a small team in a telephone‑based environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Customer Expertise – Ideally, telephone or customer-facing experience, preferably in subscriptions, publishing, or media, but not essential.
  • Resilience and Persuasion - Comfortable with challenges, committed to delivering a great customer experience, and skilled at turning interest into commitment.
  • Great Communicator – Able to build rapport easily, with strong general knowledge and the ability to engage a wide range of customers.
  • Passion for Media – Understanding the value of quality journalism and enthusiasm for promoting products that inform and inspire.
