We are now excited to invite applications for the role of Strategy Director with our awesome team in Carat Melbourne.

The role:

As the Strategy Director, you will be responsible for designing actionable communications strategies in collaboration with any internal/external agency partners, and for providing tangible direction that brings the strategic direction to life in media, acting as a guardian for ensuring that strategic thinking is reflected in tangible campaign outcomes.

As a senior discipline contributor, you are expected to have a high level of competency in communications strategy development, to be versed in media connections planning, and to have a strong grasp of the media planning and buying landscape.

Core responsibilities:

  • Drive the core functions of the strategic discipline: objective & challenge identification, target audience profiling & recommendation development, consumer journey mapping, insight & strategic territory identification, comms architecture design, media platform & principle development, topline media channel selection & orchestration, measurement framework development
  • Position yourself as a valued member of the client team across your assigned client portfolio, balanced with the ability to focus on core accountabilities as a specialist resource
  • Play an active role in identifying the local ‘big bet briefs’ that present opportunities to deploy our strategic process or the potential for award worthy work
  • Be the champion of the client’s target audience; actively delivering to Carat’s Pioneering People proposition

A bit about you:

  • Have a strong understanding of the capabilities of both industry and proprietary tools and systems used within dentsu, able to guide junior team members on the outcomes they can support
  • To integrate and collaborate across an end to end response to brief to ensure the strategic direction is reflected in tangible campaign outcomes
  • Able to foster positive and productive ways of working with agency peers across assigned clients
  • To identify and proactively manage the appropriate engagement from senior team members across the client portfolio, predominantly this will be for new stakeholder introductions, and tier 1 briefings and responses
  • An optimistic attitude, able to positively and proactively contribute to the shape of the discipline, team and agency in a fast-moving industry.
