Role Summary and Impact

Choreograph is seeking a Director, Data Strategy who will play a pivotal role in defining the role of data in our client’s business and driving adoption of the Open Media Studio (OMS) Platform across a WPP Media client in a specific market, accelerating the use of data to inform brilliant advertising strategies. They will report into the VP, Data Strategy and manage a subset of client accounts client satisfaction, commercial health, and their understanding of our platform, solutions, and consulting services.

They will lead our engagement with a client (or subset of clients) to support platform adoption and growth through new account acquisition and drive organic platform adoption with existing clients by developing data strategies and evangelizing our platform, capabilities, partnerships, and solutions. They will be an expert in our products and capabilities and will partner closely with our Product Organization to influence our product roadmap to continue to evolve in better service to our clients.


This leader will help shape the success and growth of our company by supporting the EVP in achieving overall growth and adoption targets for OMS within.

  • Deliver Data Strategy for Clients: It all starts and ends with data. What questions do you want data to answer? What data do you have? What data do you need? And how will you use that data to rationalize your decisions? You will be responsible for leveraging Data Strategy personnel assigned to help our clients answer these questions. The Data Strategy team is responsible for setting the foundations for smart, audience-led and analytically driven media plans and advertising tactics that deliver client outcomes.
  • Spearhead Platform Adoption: You will be responsible for the growth of the Choreograph platform by driving adoption of the Open Media Studio platform across a select group of clients within agency. This will include both new business acquisition and service adoption (including up-selling and cross-selling) within existing client and agency teams.
  • Drive Agency/ Team Engagement: You will represent Choreograph in agency and client engagements across clients. You will be responsible for a steady educational cadence with your agency partners to build knowledge that translates to growth through platform utilization and data services upsell. This includes promoting our platform, capabilities, partnerships, and solutions.
  • Solution Success: You will work with our clients and agency partners to ensure they are deriving exceptional marketing value out of the Choreograph platform, using this as an opportunity to drive adoption of additional functions/features of the platform and identify additional use cases/feedback for our product teams.
  • Engagement Plans: Develop, maintain, and execute detailed engagement plans to guarantee client success, taking a proactive approach to addressing their unique needs.
  • Commercial and Revenue Management: You will partner with the Commercial team and EVP, Data Strategy to design commercial proposals that deliver value and are competitive in the marketplace. You will devise and help implement a measurement approach and will support the EVP in driving your client group to hit growth and adoption targets.
  • Product Partnership: You will be an expert in our Products and Platform, with a deep understanding of our technical capabilities and responsible for communicating them to both internal and external audiences. You will be the voice of Product to clients, updating them on new solutions and the voice of client feedback to Product, translating client feedback to actionable solutions. Your role will involve translating actionable client feedback and demands into product roadmap recommendations, shaping our vision and strategy accordingly.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within Adtech or Advertising or a closely related field, in a highly matrixed organizational structure showing a track record of successful outcomes.
  • Technical Expertise: A deep understanding of data products, technology, and trends within the advertising and marketing industry with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Consultative Selling: Proficiency in consultative selling, with the ability to understand client needs, articulate the value proposition of our platform, and tailor solutions to meet those needs effectively and communicate the business value of our platform.
  • Customer Focus: A relentless focus on customer success, with a passion for delivering exceptional client experiences and driving long-term relationships.
  • Business Acumen: A history of driving revenue and achieving high levels of client satisfaction through strategic decision-making.
  • Change Management: Ability to navigate and drive organizational change within client organizations, guiding stakeholders through the adoption process and overcoming resistance to change.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, as this role hinges on effective interaction with clients and agency partners.
  • Strategic Vision: A strategic mindset that enables you to inform product development and vision based on client feedback and market demand.

We would strongly favour candidates with the following:

  • Demonstrable experience of driving technology adoption in a SaaS/PaaS environment
  • Experience designing and/or deploying data strategies with large, multi-line or multinational brands for paid media and advertising
  • Experience working with large marketing agencies.
  • Familiarity with GroupM or WPP ecosystem. [Insert Skills and Experience]
