About the team & role

The strategy team sits at the centre of Octopus Money and keeps the company focused, fast-moving and joined up – running the operating rhythm that lets the rest of the business execute, and stepping in on the commercial priorities that matter most to the CEO.

This is a role defined by variety: you’ll be at the strategic heart of the business, and move between evaluating new commercial opportunities and delivering cross-functional initiatives that drive the company’s business plan forward. It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys ownership, problem solving and working across the whole business rather than staying in one lane.

The role

As Strategy and Partnerships Associate, your day will involve:

  • Evaluating and setting up new inbound business opportunities - spanning partnerships, new product lines, and more.
  • Maintaining the operating rhythm of the company — including setting and tracking OKRs throughout the year
  • Delivering cross-functional initiatives across people, data and transformation
  • Turning ambiguous, fast-moving priorities into clear analysis and recommendations for leadership

Reporting into the Chief of Staff, you’ll work directly with the CEO and leadership team across the business, helping us move faster and stay focused on what matters most.

What we look for

✅ Strong problem-solving and commercial reasoning, comfortable building a view from incomplete information and ambiguity

✅ A bias to action — gets things done fast, without waiting for perfect information or formal process

✅  Someone who gets satisfaction from delivery, with excellent organisational and planning skills

✅ Good analytical abilities and experience in financial modelling.

✅ Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a customer-first instinct and the ability to work with anyone

✅ Thrives in a high-challenge, fast-learning environment – with the ability to context-switch easily across of initiatives

✅ Automate-first mindset — embeds AI into everyday work to move faster

We encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick every box.

Nice to have

  • Experience in a startup or scale-up
  • Background in management or strategy consulting, financial services, or proven experience driving commercial outcomes

The interview process will include:

  • An intro call to get to know you
  • A competency-based interview with the hiring manager
  • A problem solving interview with a short task presentation
  • A conversation with our CEO focused on how you work and what you value

We’ll keep it simple and respectful of your time, and you’ll meet the people you’ll actually work with. Our average process takes around four weeks but we’ll always work around your availability.

What’s in it for you

Base salary: £60,000 to £70,000 depending on experience + benefits

We want people to grow here, to feel supported and to feel proud of the impact they make!

  • A supportive team who care about what they do
