At The Crown Estate, our purpose is to create lasting and shared prosperity for the nation. We manage land, property and the seabed across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and procurement helps make that happen. We're looking for a Strategic Procurement Manager to help us treat procurement as a catalyst for value, innovation and sustainable growth.

This is an influential role. You'll shape our procurement roadmap, get involved early to influence demand, and design competitive procedures that fit each requirement. You'll be a trusted commercial partner to senior stakeholders, challenging assumptions and showing the business what the market can deliver. You'll also help set the standard for commercial excellence across the organisation.

What you'll be doing:

  • Owning our Enterprise Pipeline and building a multi-year view of demand, so we spot opportunities before they arise

  • Partnering with stakeholders early to shape requirements, and coaching them through governance

  • Designing tailored sourcing strategies and evaluation criteria that are compliant, commercially sound and built to deliver value

  • Using market insight and supplier engagement to bring innovation, better quality and lower cost

  • Leading relationships with allocated strategic suppliers under our new tiered SRM framework, and managing supply chain risk

  • Embedding sustainability and social value into contracts so they're delivered in practice

  • Using spend analysis to track and report the value procurement delivers

  • Mentoring colleagues and leading change, so our new SRM and contract management frameworks take hold across the business

What we're looking for

  • Substantial hands-on experience of delivering complex, end-to-end procurement in a public sector or regulated environment

  • Expertise in UK Public Procurement Regulations and best-practice commercial standards

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking, turning data and market insight into practical strategies

  • The confidence to influence, challenge and partner with senior stakeholders

  • A track record of developing and mentoring others

  • Exposure to a supplier relationship management programme is an advantage

  • MCIPS is desirable
