Job Description

The Strategic Pricing Manager, Immunology plays a key role in shaping and supporting strategic pricing decisions and approvals across the Immunology portfolio, working in close partnership with brand teams and cross-functional stakeholders.

The role evaluates the impact of pricing options in both in-market and launch settings at national and local levels, considering competitor positioning, customer expectations and broader market dynamics. It is responsible for developing strategic options and recommendations that maximise patient access and revenue potential.

In addition, the role supports the development of pricing strategies for pipeline products and for new indications, presentations or formulations, considering existing price points, cost-effectiveness thresholds and international reference pricing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop pricing recommendations for new launches and prepare robust business cases for approval at country and above-country level, in line with pricing governance requirements.
  • Recommend options to achieve list and net pricing strategies using appropriate national and local pricing mechanisms.
  • Deliver assumption-based analyses of pricing strategies.
  • Support the development of strategic pricing scenarios, opportunity assessments and business cases linked to commercial priorities.
  • Provide launch planning support for future indications, including assessment of the impact of new presentations or formulations.
  • Attend internal brand and asset team meetings, offering constructive challenge and strategic pricing input to support decision-making.
  • Facilitate NHS tender submission activity across AbbVie’s Immunology portfolio.
  • Provide guidance and options in response to in-market pricing challenges at both local and national level, including appropriate contractual support.
  • Prepare and submit pricing applications to relevant national bodies, including PASLU and PASAG, and support national pricing-related contractual arrangements.
  • Maintain the accuracy of pricing approval systems for Immunology products and contribute to pricing audit activity where required.
  • Lead the approval and implementation of customer pricing, including submission through relevant pricing systems and coordination with key support teams.
  • Support the assessment of portfolio strategies to manage national clawback schemes, such as VPAG, and contribute to pricing policy advocacy efforts.
  • Build effective cross-functional relationships with commercial, finance, market access and operational teams to support pricing and tender activities.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and business-critical tasks as required.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • Strong strategic mindset, with at least four years’ experience in business-facing roles providing insight and analytical support for key decision-making.
  • Degree educated, with postgraduate and/or professional qualifications in an analytical, numerical or business-related discipline preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience using reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI. Experience of pricing platforms and workflow management systems is desirable.
  • Experience presenting strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of financial planning, pricing and supply-related processes within large organisations.
  • Experience supporting tender processes, pricing administration or commercial operations would be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Competencies

  • Commercial mindset: Translates data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Collaboration: Works effectively across teams with a strong one-team mindset.
  • Judgement and decision-making: Applies sound judgement while balancing detail with broader business context.
