Description of the project 

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the building of a close and stable partnership with the UK supporting the promotion of EU values, policies and priorities. It will include improving the EU’s engagement with key target audiences and potential partners across the UK (e.g. young people, academics, think tanks, civil society, social partners, media, the business community, sportspeople and the cultural sector, local communities including EU citizens in the UK) to support the EU policy agenda. 

Qualifications and skills 

  • University degree (Communications / marketing / public diplomacy) 

  • High proficiency of written and spoken English. 

Specific professional experience 

  • Minimum (5) years of specific professional experience in one or more of the following fields in the UK: public diplomacy, strategic communication, public relations, marketing, international cooperation 

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required for communicating convincingly in a trust-building manner with a wide range of stakeholders 

  • Strong reporting and article drafting skills 

Desirable 

  • Experience in working with the public diplomacy sector in the UK, with networks of UK and European media, and other relevant organisations active in public diplomacy  

  • Proven familiarity with new/multi/social media / new communication trends / event management 

  • Strong skills to work in multi-cultural teams delivering high-quality results 

  • Proven deep familiarity with EU policies, EU values and EU public diplomacy
