Strategic Account Manager

Proofpoint is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to join our team and help drive new business within the Fortune 100, some of the biggest brands in the world . This role reports directly to the Sr. Director of Strategic Accounts and is responsible for driving growth by selling the full Proofpoint platform. You’ll leverage internal resources and our partner ecosystem to maximize success and expand your account portfolio.” In this role you will be able to expand the Proofpoint footprint, ensuring your customers are effectively protected from advanced threats and targeted attacks by our award-winning technology.
You’ll work closely with other teams, including sales engineering and sales development and marketing.

Your Day To Day

  • Collaborate with Sales Engineering to organise and deliver compelling and flawless product demonstrations

  • Work closely with the enterprise ecosystem partner sales and channel partner to maximise deal sizes

  • Deliver operational excellence, to include forecast accuracy and pipeline generation progression

  • Create and deliver customer meetings , exceptional PoV’s and drive business value onsite with customers

  • Develop and execute strong business relationships at the executive level within Strategic (FTSE scale organisations)

  • Drive growth into new accounts while deepening relationships with existing customers—introducing them to our full  security platform

Qualifications

  • Experienced technology sales professional, with a particular focus on SaaS value-based technologies. Experience within Cyber Security is an advantage.

  • Experience of closing complex opportunities in excess of $500k+

  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances

  • Relentless attention to detail and never-give-up attitude with a high level of activity, i.e., customer and partner meetings emphasizing executive value selling (CISO, CIO, CMO, etc.)

  • Ability to establish business relationships at the executive level, and ability to become a trusted client advisor

  • Growth mindset, willingness to be coached, and diligence to follow a proven sales process

  • Entrepreneurial self-starter with a consistent focus on account planning, pipeline generation and opportunity progression. You’re strategic in approach but always act with urgency.

  • Strong presentation skills and ability to develop creative solutions that drive business outcome

  • Proficient user of formal sales playbook methodologies e.g. MEDDIC, Challenger, TAS, Command of the Message.

  • Preferably you’ll have experience of using Salesforce

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (but not a necessity)
