Description

In this newly created role, as part of the Engineering team, you will responsible for identifying and advising on acceptable and applicable standards and regulations to be applied to Carbon Clean’s products. These include novel technology where there is no clear existing framework.

Your focus will be:


  • Provide Product Compliance expertise to ensure that our products are designed and sustained to be compliant and safe to ship to all applicable global regions.
  • Ensure Carbon Clean has a clear understanding of appropriate Regulations and Standards that are applicable for its products, to ensure safety, and to enhance saleability into target industries and geographies.
  • Identify all legislation that impacts our products
  • Proactively monitor industry regulations and standards to sustain product compliance
  • Support in getting product approvals with customers and regulators.
  • Interpret and advise on specific application of standards and regulation to Carbon Clean products, including new technologies and applications, while avoiding over specification and over design of products for their particular service. Able to take a market based approach to application of standards and to question application of standards and regulations in an informed and evidence based way with customers and suppliers.
  • Advise on and co- develop processes to record and demonstrate compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Advise on expedient (time and cost) approach to certification, where required, for our target markets and geographies.
  • Advise on design team approach and flexibility for different regulatory regimes.
  • Identify gaps in standards and regulations where Carbon Clean should develop their own for acceptance by customer and regulators.
  • Advise on requirements for product design, including terminology, symbols, packaging, marking or labelling requirements as they apply to a product, process, or production method.
  • Provide clarity on regulations for 3rd party activities, e.g. for lifting, transporting.
  • Assist design team in specifying and performing product compliance testing for new and sustaining products. Liaison with test facilities as needed to ensure that product testing is being done accurately
  • Work with design teams to ensure product requirements traceability documented from development through to design, manufacture and delivery.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should have a combination of the below knowledge, skills, and experience:


  • Experience within in the Oil & Gas or related industry
  • Experience in regulatory approvals and regulations in major regions.
  • Hands-on experience in a new product development environment.
  • Understanding of technical regulations and standards that apply across target industries and geographies. Experience in European (CE marking, Machinery Regulations), US and international standards and regulations.
  • Familiarity with standards and requirements in oil and gas industry (e.g. API and oil company standards) and difference in requirements between customers
  • Familiarity with regulations required for designing for hazardous area.
  • A team player - must be proactive and creative
  • Self-motivated, must be able to multi-task in a dynamic environment and handle pressure from project schedule and technical challenge.
  • Must have a working knowledge of European Union and US Directive
  • Excellent interpersonal & written & verbal communication skills
  • Experience with one of more of the product legislation categories that impact Carbon Clean
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
