At Omnea, we’re reinventing how enterprise businesses operate, starting with the most painful parts: procurement – where a single purchase can drag on for months, trigger 50+ emails, and pull in Finance, Legal, Security, and IT just to get something approved.
We’ve raised $75M from Khosla Ventures, Insight Partners, and Accel to change that. Our AI-native platform connects every person, step, and system so buying is fast, safe, and efficient – one place to request, automated approvals and renewals, real-time supplier risk, and complete spend visibility.
It's a $7B+ untapped market, and our traction reflects the scale of the opportunity: we’ve 10x’d ARR to double-digit millions in 18 months and are trusted by global enterprises like Spotify, MongoDB, Monzo, and Albertsons. We’re now the 4th fastest growing startup in Europe.
Our team previously scaled Tessian (cybersecurity tech, backed by Sequoia, Balderton, Accel, acquired post-Series C), and our team includes ex-founders operators who’ve grown unicorns, shipped world-class products, and executed at the highest levels. You’ll work alongside leaders like Ben, Abs, Sabrina, and Rebe.
Find out more about the team and life at Omnea here. What we're looking forWe're seeking an exceptional, product-minded Staff Software Engineer (L4) to join our engineering team and help drive Omnea through its next phase of growth. Over the coming year, our team will double in size, our enterprise customer base will expand from approximately 100 to over 200, and our revenue will triple. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on domain-level impact, where you'll leverage deep technical expertise to shape systems, architecture, and product outcomes—without formal team leadership or people management responsibilities.
You’ll be joining us at a pivotal moment. We've just raised $50M in Series B funding from Khosla Ventures, Insight Partners, Accel, Point Nine, and First Round Capital. In the past year alone, we've grown revenue 5x, tripled our customer base, and maintained over 99% retention with enterprises like Spotify, Wise, Albertsons, Adecco, and McAfee. Our team is small but high-caliber—it took over 10,000 interviews to hire our first 50 Omneans.
Now, we’re scaling rapidly and building the category of AI Supplier Relationship Management. We’re looking for the best software engineers to help turn procurement into a true competitive advantage!
You should be prepared to undertake our pair-programming interview stage in Javascript or Typescript, and you'll be assessed as if one of these has been your primary language. We're hiring for full-stack engineers, so if your experience is only on the frontend or backend, mainly in devops/platform, or primarily using very different languages (e.g., Java), this role may not be the right fit for you.
While we care more about skills than years of experience, typically candidates at this level have around 8-10+ years of software engineering experience for calibration purposes.
As a Staff Engineer at Omnea, you’ll remain hands-on, actively writing code, and leading through technical execution and ownership—rather than through meetings or high-level architecture discussions.
What Can You Expect in our Tech team?Join a Skilled Team. Become part of one of Europe’s fastest-growing early-stage companies, working alongside experienced full-stack product engineers who have excelled at top technology companies. As a Staff Engineer, you'll raise the bar through technical expertise, collaboration, and by setting an example, helping multiple engineers and teams succeed.
Direct Product Impact. Be involved in key product decisions, including setting the product roadmap, defining project scopes, and influencing technical direction. Your impact typically goes beyond a single team, contributing strong technical insights to discussions around product strategy, user experience, and feasibility.
Work with Modern Tech. Omnea is fully cloud-native and built on serverless technologies. Our primary stack includes Typescript with React & Material UI, Postgres, Hasura, and AWS Serverless technologies such as Lambda, DynamoDB, and EventBridge—all managed via AWS CDK & SST. We use Sentry, Lumigo, and LogRocket for observability, and Github Actions for automated testing and deployment.
End-to-End Ownership. You'll be responsible for end-to-end ownership of complex, high-impact projects or systems—from product, design, and architectural decisions through to deployment, monitoring, and measuring user impact. Your ownership will be measured by the quality, reliability, and scalability of what you help build.
Continuous Delivery. We embrace continuous delivery to keep our systems agile, responsive, and safe. You'll deploy small, incremental changes to production multiple times per day, ensuring a steady flow of improvements and rapid adaptation to customer needs or technical challenges.
Tackle Scalability Challenges. As our customer base grows from tens to hundreds and we expand into new product domains, you'll help scale our product, architecture, and processes efficiently while maintaining performance and reliability.
Collaboration & Autonomy. You'll often work autonomously to take charge of your projects, make decisions, and drive your work forward. As a lean, high-trust team, we're always quick to collaborate and support each other in tackling challenging problems together.
Customers at the Centre. Being responsive to customer feedback and issues is crucial. We actively encourage engaging with customers, understanding their experiences, and iterating on our products based on their input to deliver solutions that truly delight.
You’re experienced (typically 8-10+ years) in building web applications, having designed and implemented features end-to-end (full-stack, using Typescript and ideally AWS).
You focus on high impact. You've led the engineering of critical systems, working with best-in-class tools in AWS, IaC, observability, and quality assessments. You're eager to bring this mindset to an early-stage startup.
You know what good looks like. You understand what it takes to build highly reliable and well-architected products, with quality, observability, and redundancy as priorities.
You get things done. You enjoy all aspects of building a product and are comfortable navigating the full stack when necessary. You delight in problem solving and thinking from first principles. You're enthusiastic about picking up new skills and building quickly.
You crave ownership. You naturally gravitate toward substantial engineering projects and are eager to level up in areas like DevOps or SRE. If there's an opportunity to work on something big, you’re keen to take it on.
You build teams. You’re a team player who wants to maximize team performance, whether that means learning from others or taking the time to explain things, provide feedback, and help those around you level up.
You’re comfortable with ambiguity. You're happy to tackle problems without clear definitions, making decisions as you go, supported by an experienced team.
Nice to haves that really stand out to us
You've performed exceptionally at something in the past—whether in academics, sports, work, or another area. You’ve gone above and beyond the norm.
You love engineering—it’s more than just a job. You’ve contributed to open-source projects or worked on side projects because you enjoy it. You're confident in tackling ambiguous problems and producing high-quality code.
At Omnea, we embrace diversity. To build a product that's loved by everyone, we're best served by a team with all sorts of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't quite match the full job spec! And regardless of your race, religion, colour, gender, or anything else! If you think you could be a good fit for Omnea, please reach out.
