This role can be Office/Hybrid/Remote based within Ireland

We’re looking to add a Staff Software Engineer to join the Engage Product Group in Flywheel Product Line.

Engage Product Group mission is to reinvent HubSpot GTM Sales teams by supercharging our sales reps with world-class AI to help them hit and exceed plans. We build, evolve and maintain sophisticated AI products that meaningfully increase closed won rates by qualifying inbound leads with AI, providing intelligent insights and coaching, and generate highly-customized demo instances for every HubSpot prospect using multi-agent systems.

For this specific role, we are building a reusable, reliable, and intelligent context layer for GTM AI and agents. Our goal is to centralize insight storage, search, and retrieval; enabling faster experimentation; improving insight quality through evaluation and versioning; and powering flagship agents and guided experiences with consistent, high-quality context.

Staff Software Engineers are highly productive, impactful, and trusted engineers who leverage their skills and knowledge to work autonomously on the most complex projects and set technical direction. These problems can be broad, deep, and often span across multiple teams and product areas. Context will be your primary focus for the next few months, but we expect that you will deploy to other teams in the group over time as well.

As a Staff Software Engineer on Engage Context team you will:

  • Write and ship production code that has meaningful business and GTM impact
  • Disambiguate, design and build new AI features, agents and insights, each contributing to GTM efficiency and user or prospect experience
  • Work with a small cross-functional teams of product engineers, ML engineers, PMs and designers
  • Collaborate with HubSpotters and GTM folks all over the company
  • Get deep exposure to how HubSpot GTM works

We’re looking for engineers who have a track record of strong business and product mindset, who enjoy working with real GTM challenges and can navigate ambiguity with high levels of autonomy and passion.

We work with Java primarily, but experience with specific technologies is secondary to strong programming fundamentals. Check out our engineering blog to learn more.

What we’d like to see:

  • Experience in building AI products, especially but not only in GTM context, with a track record of tackling evaluations and innovation on top of frontier models advances.
  • Experience in building products used by GTM teams - sales or service - and drive for using technology to drive business outcomes.
  • Experience working closely with product management, designers and GTM teams, to help disambiguate problems, opportunities and co-create a solution.
  • A passion for clean, scalable code and engineering excellence.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with the team to solve problems, transfer knowledge, and develop overall product architecture.
  • Coaching and mentorship experience.
