What we are building at Conveo

Conveo is the AI research platform enabling fast, affordable, and high quality consumer / B2B research. Global brands like Unilever, Google, and Orange use our AI video interviewer to across insights, marketing, and product teams.
This role can sit in either our London or Antwerp office.

We’re looking for our first senior design hire — a Staff Product Designer who will own product design end-to-end and help define how AI-native research tools should feel. This is a rare opportunity to shape an entire product category from the ground up.

One thing worth knowing upfront: we don't have dedicated product managers. Product thinking is a shared discipline here — engineers talk directly to customers, and you'll be right in that mix. If that excites you more than it scares you, read on.

You’ll work directly with the founders, the engineering team, and customers to craft thoughtful, intuitive experiences that make complex workflows feel simple, clear, and delightful.

What you’ll do
  • Deliver high-quality, user-centered designs that evolve Conveo’s core product surfaces and elevate the overall experience.

  • Design, prototype, and test new AI-powered workflows — from interview setup to insight synthesis — making complicated research feel effortless.

  • Shape the future of AI-assisted research tools, exploring new interaction models beyond current SaaS patterns.

  • Turn ambiguous, high-impact problems into concrete products — from early vision, to roadmap, to launch.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and leadership to define both long-term strategy and near-term execution.

  • Craft high-quality UI and interaction design that sets the bar for design excellence at Conveo.

  • Lead design reviews and contribute to a strong culture of feedback, iteration, and craft.

  • Help establish the foundations of our design system, processes, and product design culture as our first designer.

Minimum requirements
  • 8+ years of relevant product design experience at a product-driven tech company or high-velocity startup.

  • A portfolio demonstrating strong design fundamentals, polished UI craft, and thoughtful end-to-end product thinking.

  • Experience partnering closely with cross-functional teams to shape product direction.

  • Ability to balance user needs, business goals, and multiple stakeholder inputs.

  • Skilled at communicating design decisions clearly and persuasively across disciplines.

  • Strong ability to influence product strategy and raise the design bar across the company.

  • Comfortable presenting work to company leadership through a clear and compelling story.

  • Experience working on ambiguous, complex problems spanning multiple product areas.

Preferred qualifications
  • Excitement about designing for AI-native products and strong opinions about what makes a great AI experience.

  • Experience designing tools for technical or expert users (researchers, analysts, builders, etc.).

  • Comfort prototyping quickly — whether in Figma, code, or with AI tools — and leading through experimentation.

  • Ability to craft and advocate for new design patterns and interaction models beyond existing design systems.

  • Startup experience (or a strong desire to build in a small, fast-moving team).

  • Passion for helping others grow and raising design maturity across the organization.

Why this role is special

This is not a “slot into an org chart” design role.

As Conveo’s first designer, you will:

  • Define the product design function from scratch

  • Shape how AI and humans collaborate in research

  • Build experiences that feel trustworthy, elegant, and deeply human

  • Have direct influence over the company’s direction and taste

Why Join Us?
  • Work with the latest AI models at the cutting edge of what's possible.

  • Work at a hyper-growth, Y Combinator-backed startup where speed and impact matter.

  • Collaborate with a team that is obsessed with excellence and execution.

  • Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity (stock options) with real upside.

  • Hybrid working model with offices in London, Antwerp, and New York. We like to stick to 3 days a week.

  • Company socials (rooftop drinks, dinners, sports, run clubs).

  • Summer and winter off-sites: Past locations have been Austria and Las Vegas, and we’re headed to Portugal in June! 🥳

  • Private health insurance.

  • Enhanced employer pension contribution.

  • Earn up to $5,000 for every successful candidate you refer.

If you want to build the future of AI-powered knowledge work — and do the best design work of your career — we’d love to talk.
