Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Staff Engineer, Cloud Foundations to lead the technical direction of a multi-cloud foundation that enables every engineering team to build securely, reliably and with clear cost visibility. What You'll Do
- Lead and apply deep expertise in multi-cloud architecture (AWS and GCP) to deliver durable, scalable outcomes that support organizational growth.
- Lead and apply deep expertise in organization-scale Terraform and infrastructure as code to deliver durable, scalable outcomes.
- Lead and apply deep expertise in cloud networking and governance to deliver durable, scalable outcomes.
- Lead and apply deep expertise in FinOps instrumentation and cloud economics to deliver durable, scalable outcomes.
- Lead and apply deep expertise in AI-assisted engineering with rigorous review to deliver durable, scalable outcomes.
- Lead and apply deep expertise in technical leadership without line authority to deliver durable, scalable outcomes.
- Collaborate across engineering, product and scientific teams to translate complex needs into practical solutions.
- Set a high bar for quality, documentation and thoughtful use of AI-assisted engineering.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent by sharing cloud architecture knowledge and best practices across teams.
- Establish and enforce cloud security standards, compliance frameworks and governance policies to protect organizational assets.
- Drive incident response protocols and reliability improvements to ensure high availability of cloud infrastructure.
- Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance on cloud design decisions to ensure alignment with organizational standards.
Qualifications

- Demonstrable experience in multi-cloud architecture: AWS and GCP
- Demonstrable experience in organisation-scale Terraform and infrastructure as code
- Demonstrable experience in cloud networking and governance
- Demonstrable experience in FinOps instrumentation and cloud economics
- Demonstrable experience in AI-assisted engineering with rigorous review
- Demonstrable experience in technical leadership without line authority
- Demonstrable experience in platform-as-product mindset
- Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management with hyperscalers
- Demonstrable experience in cloud security standards, compliance frameworks and governance policy development
- Demonstrable experience in incident response protocols and reliability engineering
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance on cloud design decisions
- Fluent English, written and spoken
- AWS or GCP Certification
