Job Description

This role can be based in our 240 Blackfriars or 79-83 North Street Brighton office.

The Sr Comms Planner – Commercial Marketing is responsible for developing and refining messaging frameworks, creating creative briefs, and ensuring visual alignment with campaign strategies. This role also manages the campaign calendar, ensuring timely execution of communication activities based on the Campaign Manager’s strategy.  

The Sr Comms Planner collaborates closely with the Product Marketing Manager and Campaign Manager, reporting directly to the Director of Commercial Marketing, to ensure that all communication plans are strategically aligned, visually cohesive, and optimized for maximum impact. By embedding agile ways of working, the Sr Comms Planner ensures iterative collaboration and adaptability to changing priorities and performance insights. 

 
Role Accountability and Duties:  

 Messaging Strategy Development  

  • Develop and refine communication frameworks in collaboration with the product marketing manager that align with the commercial value proposition, customer personas, and campaign objectives.  

  • Create messaging strategies that resonate with target audiences, ensuring consistency across all channels and touchpoints.  

  • Embed industry trends within the portfolio and collaborate with stakeholders within the team to increase relevance and engagement across communication channels.  

Creative Briefs and Visual Planning  

  • Develop creative briefs that outline messaging, visual direction, and audience insights for creative teams.  

  • Collaborate with designers and content creators to ensure visuals align with messaging frameworks and campaign objectives.  

  • Act as the bridge between messaging strategy and creative execution, ensuring all assets reflect the intended communication goals.  

Campaign Calendar Management  

  • Manage the campaign calendar, ensuring all communication activities align with the Campaign Manager’s strategy and timelines.  

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of messaging and creative assets for campaigns.  

Agile Ways of Working  

  • Foster agile workflows by embedding iterative collaboration and adaptability into communication planning.  

  • Use real-time performance data to refine messaging frameworks and creative briefs as needed.  

Performance Monitoring and Reporting  

  • Establish and monitor messaging KPIs, including engagement rates, conversion rates, and customer sentiment metrics.  

  • Use insights from marketing analytics to refine communication frameworks and pivot strategies to maximize impact.  

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in communication planning, with expertise in developing and refining messaging strategies across multiple channels.  

  • Experience in creating creative briefs and collaborating with design teams to align visuals with messaging.  

  • Ability to manage campaign calendars, ensuring timely delivery of communication activities and creative assets.  

  • Data-driven mindset with a focus on agile workflows and iterative collaboration.  

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in tracking and reporting on messaging performance metrics to inform decision-making and pivot strategies.
