Overview
Mastercard Foundry is the innovation engine of Mastercard and a hub for new product development. We do this by driving product innovation in emerging technologies and interfaces while focusing on developing a point of view to enhance existing solutions and new use-cases. We also focus on building revenue generating ecosystems and flywheels that can be standalone in adjacent segments and markets. Examples of focus areas include new distribution channels, payment flows, data and services, and applications of artificial intelligence.
Product Development Specialist within Foundry supports the execution of new-to-market product development across core payments. This role helps translate identified opportunities into well-defined concepts, coordinates cross-functional inputs, and drives day-to-day progress toward pilots and in-market delivery. Responsibilities include supporting near-term initiatives that drive revenue and customer impact, as well as assisting with scoping, research, prototyping and in-market testing of longer-term product concepts and solutions.
Role
• Support the identification and assessment of market opportunities across core payments by gathering customer, market, and competitive insights. • Contribute to narratives, value propositions, and business cases by developing analysis, synthesising inputs, and preparing materials for review. • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and keep them informed through clear updates, meeting notes, and well-organised documentation.• Define and document requirements in partnership with Product and Engineering, ensuring stakeholder inputs are captured and traceable.• Coordinate inputs and track actions across Mastercard - including but not limited to Engineering, CXD, Legal, and Product Management teams - to support alignment on requirements, decisions, timelines and overall project deliverables. • Support concept-to-pilot delivery by preparing and coordinating launch-readiness outputs (e.g., requirements, implementation guides, experience design guides, pilot plan, launch checklist, operational considerations).• Contribute to idea generation for new-to-market products and solutions, including supporting workshops, developing concepts, and creating supporting presentation or other materials. • Operate effectively within a matrixed organisation by managing priorities, raising risks early, and delivering assigned workstreams within tight timelines and evolving priorities.
All About You
• 1-3 years' experience in product development, business analysis, consulting, or adjacent roles, with exposure to taking ideas from concept through pilot and/or launch.• Understanding of and interest in the payments`ecosystem.• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to structure complex, open ended problems.• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarise complex topics into clear, stakeholder-ready materials. • Highly organised, meticulous attention to detail, comfortable working across multiple workstreams / projects and coordinating with cross-functional partners.• Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence through relationships, preparation, and follow-through in a cross-functional environment.• Ability to independently partner across the organization • Proactive, ownership oriented, and comfortable operating with limited direction• Highly motivated, intellectually curious, and eager to take on increasing responsibility• Right to work in the UK without restriction.
