Meet the Team

Our Solutions Engineering team is the technical engine behind Cisco's UKI Media & Service Provider business, working with some of the world's leading broadcasters, sports organisations, live production companies, studios, streaming providers and media service providers.

You'll work with some of the biggest names in global media and help shape how the industry moves from traditional broadcast infrastructure towards IP, cloud, automation and AI.

We are looking for a Broadcast or Media Engineer who wants to be part of that transformation.

You may come from a broadcast engineering, media systems, live production, outside broadcast, media networking or systems integration background. You understand how video and audio move through a production environment, the importance of timing and resilience, and the challenges that come with delivering live content.

You don't need to be a Cisco expert. What matters most is that you understand media. We'll help you develop your expertise across Cisco's networking, data centre, compute, security, cloud and AI technologies and show you how they can solve some of the most complex challenges facing the media industry.

With Cisco technology supporting some of the world's most demanding media environments, including our role as official network infrastructure partner of Paris 2024, you'll have the opportunity to work on technology at the heart of major global events and content platforms.

Your Impact

As a Solutions Engineer, you'll use your broadcast and media expertise to help customers understand how IP, networking and emerging technologies can transform their production and delivery environments. Across live broadcast and production, studios, post production, media cloud and hybrid environments.

You'll help customers navigate the transition from traditional broadcast infrastructure towards modern, IP-based architectures. This could include advising customers on technologies such as:

  • SMPTE ST 2110
  • PTP / SMPTE ST 2059
  • Multicast
  • QoS
  • IP media transport
  • UHD and high-bandwidth media workflows
  • Resilient and highly available media architectures
  • Data centre and cloud infrastructure
  • Automation and AI infrastructure

You'll lead technical engagements from initial discovery through architecture, workshops, proof-of-concepts and helping customers understand not just what technology they should deploy, but why it matters to their business and production environment.

You'll work alongside Cisco Account Executives to develop customer strategies, find opportunities and build long-term relationships with technical and executive partners.

You'll also have the opportunity to represent Cisco at major industry events including IBC, NAB, Cisco Live and work with Cisco engineering, Business Units, standards organisations and ecosystem partners to influence the future direction of media technology.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who understands broadcast, video and audio and has experience working with modern IP-based media environments. If you've spent your career working in broadcast engineering, live production, media systems or with a Broadcast System Integrator, we'd love to hear from you. Cisco and deeper networking expertise can be developed.

Your understanding of the media ecosystem is particularly important to us. Experience working with Broadcast System Integrators, technology vendors, broadcasters, sports organisations or production companies would be highly valued. Existing relationships across the broadcast ecosystem would be a significant advantage.

Minimum Qualifications

We'd like you to have:

  • 5+ years' experience working within Broadcast, Media & Entertainment, Live Production, Media Systems, Networking or a related technical environment.
  • Strong practical understanding of broadcast and media workflows, including video and/or audio.
  • Experience working with modern IP-based media environments, or a strong understanding of the transition from SDI to IP.
  • Experience with some of the technologies used in modern IP broadcast environments, such as SMPTE ST 2110, PTP/ST 2059, NMOS, multicast, QoS or IP media transport.
  • Experience designing, solving or implementing complex technical environments where reliability, resilience and real-time performance are critical.
  • The ability to engage with engineers and technical teams and explain complex technology clearly.
  • Experience working directly with customers, technology partners or system integrators
Cisco & Networking Experience

Cisco or networking experience is beneficial, but it is not the defining requirement of the role. You'll have the opportunity to develop expertise across Cisco's technology portfolio, including:

  • Nexus data centre networking
  • Cisco Nexus Dashboard and NDFC
  • Data centre and IP networking
  • UCS compute
  • Cisco Intersight
  • Security
  • Cloud infrastructure
  • AI infrastructure
  • Automation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Broadcast Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience with IP broadcast technologies such as SMPTE ST 2110, PTP/ST 2059 or NMOS.
  • Experience with broadcast video and/or audio systems.
  • Experience working for or with a Broadcast System Integrator.
  • Existing relationships across the Media & Entertainment technology ecosystem.
  • Experience with IP networking or data centre technologies.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical or consulting roles.
  • Cisco, CCNP, CCIE or other relevant certifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with cloud, automation or AI infrastructure is advantageous.
