Job Description Summary
Job Description
We are seeking a Solution Architect to join a growing Legal Technology team. This role will be responsible for the technical development and support of the Legal Technology stack.
The Solution Architect will report to the Legal and Procurement Systems organisation, part of the wider Enterprise Technology division.
System Support and Configuration
- Liaise with the business to understand their day-to-day needs and address bugs affecting operations. Conduct root cause analysis to determine appropriate action plans, including user impact and required data clean-up.
- Take a consultative approach during project design, developing a detailed understanding of the business use case, existing processes, and data. Work with stakeholders to finalise technical requirements.
- Manage a team member within the HSSE technology space, ensuring adherence to best practices, well-researched deliverables, and managed timelines.
- Develop calculated fields, condition rules, and business processes to support business requirements. Collaborate with other solution architects to mitigate issues affecting systems or business areas.
- Act as the liaison between the business, technical integration, and configuration teams for solutions beyond the Legal Tech remit.
- Perform smoke tests before releasing solutions to the business, optimising the build and eliminating bugs where possible.
- Support UAT by providing test cases for technical builds, including positive and regression testing.
- Manage internal releases (e.g. Workday/Salesforce) for the Legal Tech space, along with vendor releases.
- Provide actionable recommendations and communicate the impact of technical changes on business processes to stakeholders.
Skills & Competencies
Technical:
- Workday configuration experience in any area, with the ability to handle configuration in Finance and/or Procurement (especially invoicing, supplier, and client setup).
- Working knowledge of any Salesforce product is a plus.
- Experience with Legal Tech solutions is advantageous (e.g. Contract Repository, Contract Lifecycle Management, Matter and Invoice Management, EHS, ESG, screening tools).
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Working knowledge of PowerBI and other reporting tools.
Soft Skills:
- Results-oriented with strong independence, collaboration, agility, and adaptability.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on timely, thoughtful problem resolution.
- Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable dealing with employees at all levels.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business users.
- Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and prioritisation skills.
Qualifications / Experience / Education:
- 3+ years of Workday configuration experience (certification preferred).
- 3+ years of technical or administrative experience with any cloud-based or on-premise solutions beyond Workday.
