Are you passionate about building the infrastructure that powers enterprise-scale cloud platforms? At JPMorganChase, you will work on technology that matters — foundational systems that enable thousands of engineers across the firm to build, deploy, and operate in the cloud. This is your opportunity to grow your cloud engineering expertise, contribute to a high-impact platform team, and develop breadth across multiple public clouds over time.

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within Infrastructure Platforms Cloud Foundation Services, you will be an essential member of an agile team dedicated to building and delivering trusted, market-leading technology in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will help pave the base layer of the firm's cloud estate, enabling the platform layers built on top of it, across three public clouds. You will start on Azure, taking our next-generation provisioning capability to general availability and retiring the estate it replaces, with the opportunity to build breadth across AWS and Google Cloud over time. This is a role for engineers who enjoy writing high-quality code and building platforms that other engineers genuinely like using.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop secure, high-quality production code for our cloud provisioning platform, with an initial focus on Azure, and review and debug code written by others
  • Contribute to product design, application functionality, and the technical operations and processes that keep the platform reliable and scalable
  • Support the migration of consumers onto the new provisioning capability, including building and maintaining the automation that makes that migration repeatable
  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
  • Contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices across the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge cloud technologies
  • Foster a team culture of diversity, inclusion, opportunity, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Azure; hands-on expertise with other public clouds such as AWS or Google Cloud will also be considered
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code to manage cloud resources efficiently
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Python, or Go
  • Experience working within software development practices such as Agile, Scrum, or DevOps
  • Understanding of cloud-native architectures and microservices design principles
  • Proficiency across all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Exposure to identity, networking, or policy controls in a public cloud environment
  • Experience with more than one public cloud platform, or a demonstrated appetite to build depth across multiple cloud environments
  • Experience with Specification by Example or behavior-driven development to support high-quality software delivery
  • Familiarity with pairing and software teaming practices that foster collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Microsoft Azure certification
