About the Role:

We're seeking a Software Engineer II to shape the tooling and infrastructure that power the next generation of scalable AI / ML and GenAI products at Remitly. In this role, you'll collaborate with AI / ML, Data science, Data, and Infrastructure teams to design systems that enable seamless AI / ML experimentation, training, deployment, serving, and evaluation. Your work will accelerate how quickly AI / ML ideas turn into customer impact—at a global scale.

You'll report to the AI Platform Engineering Manager and play a critical role in building and scaling the foundation for Remitly's future AI-driven products.

You Will:

  • Design and build backend services in Go on AWS to support high-scale AI / ML workloads.
  • Develop and enhance core AI / ML platform offerings—including Feature Store, ML Orchestration, and Model Deployment & Serving—with a focus on performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Develop and deploy GenAI applications
  • Partner closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and software engineers across multiple domains to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Drive infrastructure optimization and automation, improving system scalability, reliability, and developer velocity.
  • Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to align engineering initiatives with product and business goals.

You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience developing production applications, ideally in Go or Java.
  • 1+ years of experience working on platform and / or infrastructure teams.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining containerized applications and supporting systems that utilize containerization
  • Strong cross-team collaboration skills, with experience working directly with product and stakeholder partners.
  • Experience building and operating core ML infrastructure (e.g., model serving, ML orchestration, feature stores, research environments)
  • Experience with modern CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $124,000 - $155,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
