The Role
Golin is seeking a senior social media strategist to join our London team and lead the social strategy work for our portfolio of large, global consumer clients. This is a pivotal role for a strategic and visionary social director with a proven track record of managing high impact social campaigns across a variety of platforms for consumer brands.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders to understand their business priorities, providing strategic recommendations that integrate social media to drive overall business success
- Be able to work well within complex inter-agency teams (including non IPG agencies) working collaboratively as one team to deliver the best work for the brand and client
- Lead the creation and implementation of comprehensive social strategies for B2C audiences, ensuring consistency in messaging, brand tone, and engagement across various platforms and markets
- Demonstrate expertise across all major social media platforms, with a particular focus on Meta platforms (Instagram and Facebook), video/content platforms including YouTube, and TikTok, community platforms such as Reddit and Discord and new emerging platforms whose value proposition aligns with our clients goals and objectives, ensuring content aligns with each platform’s unique opportunities and features
- Oversee the planning, execution, and continuous optimisation of social first campaigns and content ideas that lean heavily into audience and understanding to ensure our clients are being part of the critical conversations and audience engagement relevant to their brand and brand purpose
- Build solid client relationships by truly embedding yourself in their business, constantly showing that their business is your main priority and sharing your knowledge of what’s coming down the track and how they can capitalise on the evolving features and innovations within social media platforms for their respective brands’ benefit audiences
- Develop creative, high impact awards-worthy consumer campaigns that help our clients cut through the noise and stand out from the crowd and that help drive measurable change in audience perceptions, behaviours and outcomes
- Collaborate closely with the data, creative, social media and production teams to deliver against the above needs to produce engaging, high quality social content that maximises platform functionalities and drives measurable results amongst key target audiences
- Champion the implementation of performance driven, best practice processes across the client teams, enhancing the quality of client deliverables and results
- Work closely with the Head of Integrated Media to ensure that social first thinking is embedded across all agency teams
Ideal Candidate Attributes
- A strategic and visionary leader with experience directing complex, high-profile social campaigns for global consumer brands
- Demonstrable experience in managing primarily consumer (B2C) social media strategies, with expertise in leveraging established and emerging social and digital platforms
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage client team in a fast-paced environment and establish strong client relationships that help deliver an ongoing roadmap of campaign briefs
- Experience working with and counselling clients with a breadth of social/digital knowledge and understanding, being able to inspire and educate whilst also delivering strong results will be essential
- Strong connections with platform holders and content creators across relevant sectors and the ability to build and leverage those relationships to support client campaigns
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively, prioritising and adapting as necessary to meet client and business needs
- Experience working with large, multinational brands and navigating the nuances of social campaigns across different regions, languages, and time zones
- An innovative mindset, always on the lookout for new ideas, opportunities, and social media trends to keep client strategies ahead of the curve
- Someone who has or wants to build an industry profile and feels confident writing op-eds, LinkedIn posts, panel discussions and podcasts continually driving the narrative of Golin as a socially minded earned agency
