Job Description:

Social Media Manager

Marketing | London

Your Role within our Kingdom

King is seeking a hands-on Social Media Manager to bring our social strategy to life through consistent, high-quality and platform-native content that keeps our brands visible, relevant and connected to audiences throughout the year.

Sitting within King Central Marketing, you'll bring our social strategy to life through high-quality, native content across King’s portfolio, with an initial focus on Candy Crush. Working closely with Brand Communications, agencies, creators and cross-functional partners, you’ll own the day-to-day social delivery plan, ensuring content is planned, briefed and executed effectively.

Your Responsibilities

  • Translate the agreed Social and Brand Communications direction into clear quarterly and monthly delivery plans
  • Own and maintain an integrated social calendar across always-on content, campaigns, creator activity and earned-first opportunities
  • Bring Social into campaign and tentpole planning early, defining briefs, deliverables, timelines and asset requirements
  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of King’s owned social channels, with an initial focus on Candy Crush across Facebook and Instagram, ensuring activity is consistently planned, produced and delivered
  • Support social activity across other King titles and partnerships as Central Marketing priorities evolve.
  • Plan, brief and coordinate platform-native content with our in-house Marketing Studio, agencies, creators and production partners
  • Work with agency partners to develop and refine ideas, ensuring content is right for the brand, relevant to the audience and appropriate to each platform
  • Apply each brand's editorial framework and tone of voice consistently, while adapting content to platform behaviour and audience expectations
  • Review content and provide clear, practical feedback on creative quality, platform fit, messaging and cultural relevance
  • Coordinate approvals, scheduling, publishing, creator usage rights, whitelisting and paid amplification with the relevant teams
  • Work with Earned, Partnerships and Creator leads to identify stories and content that Social can extend through conversation, participation or distribution
  • Monitor platform behaviour, creator trends, cultural conversations and emerging formats, turning relevant opportunities into timely recommendations
  • Apply a strong understanding of US-facing social media culture and audience behaviour when developing and reviewing content.
  • Track results using Sprinklr, agency reporting and internal measurement tools, feeding relevant information to the team’s performance tracker.
  • Use performance evidence to recommend what should continue, change, scale or stop, with a particular focus on engagement, reach, conversation and channel growth.
  • Maintain clear workflows and communication across internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring work moves forward effectively against multiple deadlines.

Skills to Create Thrills

  • Hands-on experience managing organic social channels and a busy content calendar for a consumer-facing brand or agency
  • Strong practical knowledge of Meta platforms and short-form social content, including what drives organic engagement, reach and conversation on each platform.
  • Strong creative and editorial judgement, with an understanding of what makes content feel relevant, entertaining and native to different platforms
  • Experience briefing and coordinating agencies, studios, creators or production partners from initial concept through to delivery.
  • Strong organisational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, stakeholders and workstreams
  • Confidence using social performance data and audience insights to improve content effectiveness
  • Strong awareness of US social media culture, audience behaviour and relevant cultural moments.
  • An interest in entertainment, gaming, creators and popular culture

Bonus Points

  • Experience working on social channels for an entertainment, technology, lifestyle or culture-led consumer brand
  • Experience working across both agency and in-house environments
  • Experience supporting social activity for more than one brand, product or audience
  • Practical knowledge of TikTok, YouTube or other emerging social platforms
  • Familiarity with Sprinklr or a comparable social media management and listening platform
  • An understanding of how paid amplification, whitelisting and creator usage can extend organic social activity
