Job Profile Summary
The Snowflake Developer is responsible for designing, developing and implementing technical solutions to secure, harden, monitor and alert for Chaucer Snowflake platforms. The work scope may later extend to other products, platforms and capabilities within Data Platforms.
This role will be responsible for supporting the Data Platforms teams in delivering best of breed, secure technical practice anchored to CIS Cyber Security framework with specific support for COBIT framework. Additionally, the role will liaise with Snowflake technical teams and selectively contribute to Private Preview features, also extending Chaucer Cyber Security coverage for new Snowflake features and enhancements. This role is initially for an individual contributor but may extend to later leading a small team.
Job Description
- Design, develop and implement Cyber Security best practice in accordance with both Snowflake recommendations and Chaucer Cyber Security Policy using agreed tooling and techniques into Chaucer Snowflake accounts specifically addressing:
- Preferred integration patterns
- Advice, guidance and assistance to all integration products and partners
- Contribution to evolving Chaucer Cyber Security policies, processes and procedures
- Deliver dashboard components exposing monitoring, events and alerts for consumption by PowerBI and other tooling
- Integrate and deliver both near real-time events and alerts with Chaucer SIEM tooling
- Ensure all deliverables conform to security, infrastructure, product and other internal requirements as directed
- Maintain and extend system and operational support documentation, liaison and support for the Operational Support team in accordance with Chaucer requirements
- Contribute to the Data Platform teams Cyber Security awareness, training and upskilling delivering both Snowflake SME and Cyber Security framework skill, knowledge and expertise
- Provide frequent reporting to stakeholders
Skills and Competencies
- Relevant industry experience operating within Insurance or Financial Services
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Subject Matter Expertise in Snowflake Cyber Security settings, components, capabilities and features
- Competence with CIS and COBIT Cyber Security frameworks, awareness of alternate frameworks (NIST, ISO, DORA etc)
- Good understanding of data through previous hands-on contributions to design, development and implementation, ability to identify and explain patterns
- Proactive, determined and resilient, with a positive attitude
- Extensive and demonstrable problem-solving capabilities
