  • Support delivery of team's responsibilities under the Group Risk Annual Plan, to fulfil the Group Risk Mission and Mandate.
  • Provide advice and assurance in alignment with the Group Risk's Mission to promote informed decision making and controlled risk-taking that improves customer outcomes and delivers long term value for shareholders.
  • Building close working relationships, gaining credibility and an appropriate level of influence in business areas.
  • Managing a variety of Risk Management related tasks and activities concurrently, meeting expectations on agreed deliverables and timescales.
  • Continuously developing and maintaining technical knowledge and applying this in conjunction with business awareness in order to provide review, challenge and consultancy.
  • Expressing technical information in plain language for stakeholders with a range of technical knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have the following personal attributes and skills:

  • Exceptional experience of the UK SMCR regime and applications under it in a large regulated firm.
  • Ideally extensive experience of working in the Risk function of a similar type organisation to Standard Life.

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.
