The Mining Project Administrator is responsible for administrative, organizational support and coordination of activities related to mining projects. He or she ensures the link between the various stakeholders of the Project, manages schedules, monitors budgets and ensures compliance with HSE standards specific to the mining sector. His role is decisive in the respect of deadlines, the smooth running of projects in accordance with technical, regulatory and national and international standards.


Main Responsibilities


Administrative and organizational management: 

- Supervise technical studies (feasibility, design, optimization) in accordance with the Mining Code of Senegal and the Mining Conventions;

- Coordinate legal documents (permits, regulatory reports) with the Directorate of Mines and Geology;

- Plan and coordinate regular meetings of the Steering Committee and write minutes including assigned decisions and deadlines,

- Compartmentalize mining projects into feasible tasks (exploration, drilling, construction, etc.) and set realistic deadlines in collaboration with the Project Manager,

- Create and maintain workflows, detailed schedules (by software such as Microsoft Project or Trello, etc.);

- Manage technical documentation such as specifications and project progress reports,

- Coordinate quality checks to ensure deliverables meet requirements;

- Measure and report to the Project Manager on the performance of the project;

- Develop, maintain and coordinate all interfaces with the Client's operational groups;

- Ensure that qualified personnel are available to meet project performance objectives;

 

Cost and time management:

- Develop and monitor budgets, schedules, software (MS Project, Primavera) for efficient management;

- Implement performance monitoring indicators (KPIs) and update them regularly;

- Ensure quantified reporting to investors and local authorities (DMG and EITI Senegal);

- Monitor the execution of the budget and projective expenses and anticipate costs in collaboration with the Finance Department;

 

Operational and Logistics Support

- Apply and monitor local content clauses (recruitment, Senegalese purchase) in accordance with the regulations in force;

- Negotiate contracts with technical partners (drilling, logistics, building and public works);

- Oversee and manage purchase requisition processes, review bids and tender documents to ensure compliance with the project scope and technical specifications;

- Coordinate the management of the Project's resources (hardware, equipment, specialized software) in permanent contact with suppliers and subcontractors;

- Ensure the collection of technical project data (geological studies, drilling report, risk analysis) for the engineering and field teams

 

Risk Management and Compliance

- Guarantee compliance with regulations and compliance with all the company's commitments to partners;

- Maintain good relations with all stakeholders to minimize all risks related to safety, the environment and communities;

- Anticipate and resolve any conflicts related to activities that may impact the project schedule;

- To put sustainable development issues at the heart of the Project and to ensure that they are respected;

- Ensure compliance with environmental and mining rehabilitation standards;





Profil
Education

Bac + 5 in Project Management, and/or in Business Administration and Mining Rights

Required Experience

- Knowledge of mining regulations and mining methods (underground, open pit) and CSR issues;

- Good command of mining software (Surpac, Datamine), Use of SAP;

Language skills

- Ability to communicate fluently in English and French.

- The local language will be an asset, namely Malinké and Pulaar.
