We're partnering with a regulatory reporting platform, as it strengthens the SFTR subject matter expertise behind its client-facing teams.

This is a client-facing advisory role rather than an in-house one. Instead of owning a single firm’s reporting framework, you will be deployed into client engagements, working alongside institutional clients to prepare them for SFTR reporting, validating their scope against ESMA guidance, and mapping their source data to the platform’s SFTR specification. The immediate engagement centres on a client servicing its SFTR obligations from a newly implemented BRS Aladdin source dataset.

The successful candidate will combine genuine SFTR depth with front-line capital markets experience across repo, securities lending, or collateral management, and the consulting presence to lead working sessions with senior client stakeholders. This is a 12-month engagement based in London, with three days per week on site, expected to commence towards the end of the year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the SFTR subject matter expert on client engagements, providing hands-on business analysis support to institutions preparing for SFTR reporting.
  • Validate reporting scope and requirements against ESMA guidance, assessed specifically against each client’s investable universe.
  • Analyse client source system datasets, including BRS Aladdin, to determine which attributes will service their SFTR reporting requirements.
  • Map client data artefacts to the platform’s SFTR specification, identifying gaps, ambiguities, and fields requiring attention.
  • Lead working sessions with key client stakeholders to resolve specific data gaps and interpretive questions, providing expertise directly in the room.
  • Prioritise the fields and data elements requiring attention in conjunction with the client, and document the resulting analysis and recommendations.
  • Produce Business Requirements Documents and test scripts built around each client’s business scenarios.
  • Provide documented subject matter expertise on specific concerns raised over the course of an engagement.
  • Prepare clear, high-level summaries of engagement activity and outcomes for client distribution.

Requirements
  • Substantial capital markets experience gained across investment banking, asset or wealth management, inter-dealer broking, or hedge funds, with a track record in regulatory reporting change.
  • Deep, hands-on SFTR expertise, including direct experience of scope validation, field-level mapping, and data quality remediation.
  • Front-line business experience - trading desk, collateral management, or repo and securities lending - rather than regulatory interpretation alone.
  • Working knowledge of buy-side order management and portfolio systems, particularly BRS Aladdin; Charles River (CRIMS) or Thinkfolio exposure is also valuable.
  • Strong business analysis and project management discipline covering scoping, gap assessment, requirements documentation, and QA / UAT testing.
  • Broader regulatory reporting exposure across EMIR, MiFID II / MiFIR, or CFTC / SEC regimes.
  • A track record of producing client-ready documentation - BRDs, test scripts, and analysis summaries - to a standard that withstands scrutiny.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and consulting presence, with the confidence to lead sessions with senior client stakeholders and represent subject matter expertise credibly.
