The Team:
At Celonis, our ServiceNow Engineering team has been a key driver of internal transformation for over two years. Focused on improving the employee experience and optimizing internal operations, we’ve implemented and actively manage core ServiceNow modules like ITSM, HRSD, HAM, and Procurement. Our mission is to enable smart, efficient, and scalable solutions through automation, self-service, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is based in our energetic Madrid office.
The Role:
We’re seeking a hands-on, strategic ServiceNow Engineer who thrives on solving complex problems, understands the bigger picture, and knows how to turn business needs into scalable solutions. In this role, you’ll lead medium to high-complexity projects, influence platform direction, and act as a key technical partner to stakeholders across the company.
You will work independently, often owning entire initiatives or workstreams, while mentoring others and ensuring platform standards and processes are followed. This is an opportunity to shape how Celonis leverages ServiceNow as a foundational platform for internal excellence.
The work you’ll do:
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable features across ITSM, HRSD, HAM, Procurement, and other modules.
- Act as a trusted partner to stakeholders—gathering requirements, proposing solutions, and integrating cross-functional needs.
- Plan and execute mid-to-high complexity projects, proactively managing dependencies and timelines.
- Evaluate and improve existing solutions, recommending technical enhancements to meet evolving business needs.
- Make architectural decisions that improve scalability, performance, and platform governance.
- Identify and resolve complex issues creatively and independently.
- Provide regular updates on project status, task priorities, and implementation complexity.
- Contribute to roadmap planning and integration with broader business initiatives.
- Mentor teammates and educate peers on best practices, functionality, and cross-platform dependencies.
- Recommend and drive new initiatives based on identified process gaps or inefficiencies.
The qualifications you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow as an Architect, Developer, or Technical Lead.
- Proven track record of delivering complex ServiceNow projects, including integrations with other systems.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator + at least one CIS certification (e.g., ITSM, HRSD, ITOM); CMA or CTA is a strong plus.
- Strong business acumen with a passion for engaging stakeholders and understanding their needs.
- Advanced scripting knowledge (JavaScript, Glide, etc.) and understanding of core CS concepts (data structures, algorithms, etc.).
- Experience leading multiple workstreams or cross-functional initiatives.
- Deep knowledge of integration methods (REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub, MID).
- Skilled in system performance troubleshooting, platform security, ACLs, and SSO.
- Experience with Make.com or other low-code/no-code integration platforms.
- Familiarity with AI/ML features like Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence, and Generative AI.
- Follows QA/release processes and contributes to ongoing process improvement.
- Consistently shares knowledge and mentors junior team members.
- Proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented, with excellent communication skills in English.
