About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Visual Designer to shape how Preply’s brand comes to life within our product.

As part of the Brand Creative team, you’ll partner with Product Designers, Product Managers across multiple squads. You’ll stay close to their roadmaps and planning, helping frame creative opportunities from the inception of a project and leading visual solutions through to delivery.

This is a hands-on role with a high degree of ownership. You’ll bring independent judgment, strong visual craft and the ability to turn ambiguous challenges into clear creative direction. As a key connection between Brand and Product, you’ll also help evolve our visual language based on the needs of both teams.

What you’ll do

  • Shape projects from the start. Participate in squad planning, discovery and design sessions, identifying where brand and visual storytelling can improve the experience and influencing briefs before solutions are defined.

  • Lead creative explorations and executions. Independently lead the visual work on complex product initiatives, exploring concepts, recommending a direction and delivering polished outcomes.

  • Choose the right visual approach. Develop solutions across photography, illustration, 3D imagery, iconography, typography and motion, drawing on creative specialists where needed.

  • Represent Brand in product decisions. Build trusted relationships across squads, explain your recommendations and resolve competing needs through thoughtful design judgment.

  • Strengthen the shared visual system. Turn recurring challenges into reusable assets, principles and practical examples. Bring product learnings back into Brand to help refine our guidelines.

  • Anticipate and prioritise work. Maintain visibility across squad roadmaps, surface dependencies and align priorities with Brand and Product leads to focus effort where it matters most.

  • Raise the quality of the work. Give constructive feedback, support other designers and collaborate with Engineers through implementation to ensure the final experience meets the intended standard.

  • Scale creative solutions through AI. Develop reusable prompts, workflows and examples that enable Product Designers to generate and adapt imagery within our visual guidelines. Establish clear quality standards and help teams apply these approaches confidently in their day-to-day work.

What you’ll bring

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating senior-level visual craft, conceptual thinking and brand design applied to digital products.

  • Experience independently leading projects from an ambiguous brief through to implementation, with clear reasoning behind your decisions.

  • Excellent foundations in typography, composition, colour and visual storytelling, supported by an understanding of usability and accessibility.

  • The ability to influence cross-functional partners, navigate feedback and build alignment around a creative direction.

  • Strong Figma skills and experience creating reusable design assets and guidance.

  • Sound judgment in balancing quality, scope and timelines across multiple initiatives.

Experience with illustration, motion or generating imagery is a plus.

What success looks like

  • 6+ years of experience in visual, brand or digital design, with a portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking and visual craft.

  • At least 2 years working directly with digital product teams, collaborating with Product Designers, PMs and Engineers from discovery through implementation.

  • Experience in a consumer-facing technology company, digital platform or subscription business, ideally supporting multiple squads. Agency experience is equally relevant when it includes sustained collaboration with product teams and shipped digital experiences.

  • Examples of brand design applied within live products, such as onboarding, feature introductions, subscription journeys or progress and achievement experiences, with clear ownership of the visual direction.

  • Experience building reusable visual systems and AI workflows, including confident image generation, refinement of outputs, and prompts or guidance that enable other designers to produce consistent work.

  • Challenge, disagree and commit - We value open and candid communication, even when we don’t fully agree. We speak our minds, challenge when necessary, and fully commit to decisions once made.

  • One Preply - We prioritize collaboration, inclusion, and the success of our team over personal ambitions. Together, we support and celebrate each other's progress.
