We make health happen

You’ll sit alongside a passionate and talented multi-disciplinary experience design team, made up of user researchers, product designers, content designers and design operations, who are focused on creating the best digital experiences for Bupa’s customers in the UK.

As a Senior User Researcher you will plan, design, and lead research activities with users that help teams get a deep understanding of the people that use Bupa's products and services. You'll help others create research activities in larger teams and on more complex projects. This research will help to inform proposition, service, content, and interaction design so that our products and services meet the needs of our users and are truly customer centric.

As a function quickly growing in maturity, you will support the User Research team in developing ways of working, establishing new processes and educating others about the power of User Research.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team of researchers, UX designers, visual designers and content designers to help design experiences for all areas of the business.
  • You will be responsible for planning and carrying out user research activities for and with the rest of the team – owning the process end to end and empowering colleagues to get involved.
  • You’ll be working as an embedded researcher across two squads
  • Spotting opportunities for research to support in the design process, educating colleagues and stakeholders about what we do and how we can support.
  • You’ll be contributing to the growth of a team that’s establishing itself and growing in maturity – helping to improve and set up processes and ways of working.
  • You’ll be deepening our knowledge of our customers and helping to champion their needs so we can serve them better.

What We’re Looking For

  • Around 3- 5 years research experience – most likely as a User/UX researcher but we’re open to candidates from Market/Social research backgrounds who can demonstrate a good level of knowledge/transferable skills.
  • Experience across generative and evaluative research methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead research projects from start to finish
  • Experience of undertaking research with sensitive audiences/around sensitive topics
  • Background in working on projects related to accessibility
  • Confident working with analytics data (we use Adobe Analytics and FullStory)
  • Proven track record of advocating for user research in the design process and making the business case for thorough and impactful research.
  • Experience working as part of Agile teams
