Join our Finance and Treasury Reporting Change team, where you’ll play a key role in modernising how we deliver critical regulatory and financial reports. As a Senior Treasury Analyst – Developer, you’ll design and enhance data solutions that automate processes, strengthen data quality, and support timely, accurate insights.

Working closely with colleagues across Finance, Treasury, and Change, you’ll help future‑proof core reporting systems and drive innovation across the function. Your work will directly support better decision‑making, ensuring we continue to serve our members with trusted information and keep their interests at the centre of everything we do.

We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.

At Nationwide, we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK-wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this job, you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part-time, you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon, London or Northampton office. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.

If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll help shape how we create and deliver our finance and treasury reports using a variety of tools like SQL, SAS, and primarily Databricks. A typical day might start with you translating requirements gathered by our Business Analyst team into technical solutions in the relevant platform (i.e. Databricks SQL), doing some exploratory data analysis on available data to explore sources for various report requirements, improving an existing ETL pipeline process, and adhering to coding best practices for reliable team collaboration. Later, you may sit with colleagues in wider Finance or Treasury teams to further understand and refine what they’re trying to achieve and turn that into a practical, and where necessary, innovative solution.

Leveraging modern technologies, you’ll use SQL every day and, where appropriate, tools like Databricks (and other cloud data platforms) to transform data, automate workflows, and boost performance and resilience.

You’ll play a key part in modernising how we work by replacing older, manual processes with more efficient, automated workflows using a mix of SAS and Databricks SQL. Throughout your day, you’ll see how data supports decisions on funding, liquidity, and risk. It’s a role for someone who enjoys solving problems, simplifying processes, and helping drive meaningful change.

About you

For this role, we are looking for someone who has/is:

  • Good experience with a coding language, e.g. SQL or Python - particularly writing productionised code, not just ad-hoc queries
  • Experience in working with large, complex datasets
  • A numerical, analytical, or technical background
  • Previously built or supported data pipelines or reporting processes (e.g. using Databricks)
  • Clear communication and the ability to explain technical ideas in a simple, friendly way
  • The ability to work and collaborate well with non‑technical colleagues
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a changing environment

Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:

  • Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers’ shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind

  • Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think – we’re honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand

  • Push for better - We don’t settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development

  • Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes

You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.

Banking – but fairer, more rewarding, and for the good of society

We forge our own path at Nationwide.

We don’t see customers as the engine of our own profit. We share our profits with them and put their needs first. Always there when they need us. Supporting them and their lives.

If you’re inspired by fairer finances, passionate about making a meaningful impact, and truly care about our customers, you’re one of us.
