Position Summary

Vertiv is seeking a Technical Sales Manager to support the growth of our Switchgear and Busbar Systems business across the data center market.

In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to both customers and sales teams, helping develop and position integrated electrical power distribution solutions that support mission-critical applications. Your focus will span the complete electrical infrastructure chain, from utility grid connection and medium-voltage distribution through to low-voltage power systems supporting data center operations.

Working closely with customers, sales teams, engineering functions, and business leaders, you will translate complex technical requirements into commercially viable solutions that leverage Vertiv's broad portfolio of power infrastructure technologies.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in electrical power distribution systems, a consultative solution-selling approach, and a passion for supporting customers in designing reliable, resilient, and scalable critical power environments. While experience within the data center sector is highly desirable, candidates from industries such as power generation, utilities, oil & gas, chemical processing, or other large-scale industrial environments are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with regional sales teams to drive growth across Vertiv's electrical power distribution portfolio through a consultative and value-based sales approach.
  • Engage with customers to understand business and technical requirements, developing tailored solutions that address operational, performance, and reliability objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for solutions including medium-voltage and low-voltage switchgear, busbar systems, UPS technologies, prefabricated and modular solutions, protection systems, and power automation platforms.
  • Review customer specifications, RFQs, and tender documentation to identify technical requirements, compliance criteria, and commercial opportunities.
  • Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations, solution proposals, and customer workshops.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and manufacturing teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically robust, manufacturable, and aligned with Vertiv standards.
  • Act as a key interface between the Line of Business and regional sales organizations, ensuring alignment on opportunities, priorities, and market requirements.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive developments, emerging technologies, and evolving customer needs within the electrical infrastructure and critical power markets.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity, customer, and project records within CRM systems and support pipeline forecasting activities.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, sales engineering, or solution consulting within the electrical power distribution industry.
  • Proven success supporting complex solution sales involving electrical infrastructure, critical power, or industrial power distribution systems.
  • Strong knowledge of medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems, including relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience working with consultants, contractors, engineering firms, data center operators, or industrial end users.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and commercial audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and customer engagements simultaneously.
  • Experience using CRM tools and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% across the region to support customers, partners, and Vertiv teams.
