The Role

This is where engineering excellence meets commercial impact. As our Pre-Sales Technical Engineer, you'll be the go-to technical authority on UPS systems and Power Distribution Units — the critical backbone that keeps the world's largest data centers running without a flicker.

You'll partner directly with hyperscale customers and our Sales team to architect power solutions that don't just meet specifications — they exceed expectations. From crafting winning proposals and tenders to designing bespoke power systems when off-the-shelf simply won't cut it, you'll ensure every solution is precision-engineered to the client's exact requirements. If a standard product doesn't fit, you'll create one that does.

Key Responsibilities

  • Decode the brief — Review RFQs, dissect customer requirements, and identify the technical specifications that will shape the winning solution.
  • Be the technical backbone of Sales — Provide authoritative pre-sales support on product specifications, ensuring our proposals are technically bulletproof.
  • Match the right product to the right problem — Select standard products based on customer requirements, or identify where custom engineering is needed.
  • Engineer what doesn't exist yet — Design innovative solutions where standard products fall short, defining feasibility, costs, and delivery pathways.
  • Orchestrate internally and externally — Coordinate across internal departments and external suppliers to bring complex solutions to life seamlessly.
  • Own the room — Attend customer meetings alongside Sales as the trusted technical expert who can answer the hard questions with confidence.
  • Build consultant relationships — Visit and nurture relationships with consultants on a regular basis, collaborating to develop effective, forward-thinking solutions.
  • Shape the future product roadmap — Feed real-world insights back to Product Management and Sales, flagging issues with current products and championing ideas for the next generation.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience with UPS systems, batteries, and data center infrastructure

Preferred:

  • Deep expertise in critical power products — UPS, battery storage systems, data center infrastructure, and electrical infrastructure solutions
  • Strong IT proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with a natural customer/sales orientation
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD platforms
  • A relentless focus on understanding and solving customer needs
  • Fluent in English and Italian (written and verbal) — non-negotiable
