Role title: Senior Technical Project Manager

Location: London

A Senior Technical Project Manager owns the technical and operational relationship with payments issuers like Digital Wallets, Banking Schemes, Mobile Carriers and leads the technical scoping and integration of their payment solutions into Boku Payments platform. You will work with these external partners to assess their technical capabilities for a host of Boku products and manage the technical integration projects with limited resources and tight timelines. You will collaborate closely with Business Development, Product Management, Engineering, Program Management, and Support Operations in the process.

This is not only a highly externally focused role, but also one that is pivotal to internal teams serving as the payment solution expert for the markets covered. If you thrive in a fast-paced, constantly challenging environment, we’d love to talk with you.

What You'll Do:

  • Integration and Solution Design: Conduct in-depth gap analyses and solution designs to ensure payment solutions meet technical and operational specifications.
  • Technical Scoping: Define and document integration requirements with payment issuers and merchants, covering REST, SOAP, and SQL.
  • Merchant Onboarding: Manage onboarding for new merchants, including unique, project-based integrations requiring deep technical understanding.
  • Escalation Expert: Act as the go-to escalation point for resolving complex technical requests from both internal teams and external partners.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Collaborate with Engineering to dive into system details, analyze issues, and develop rapid resolutions.
  • Scrum Leadership: Organize and lead regular project scrums, track dependencies, and maintain project timelines in an Agile environment.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring solutions align with business goals without compromising timelines.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Build relationships with Business Development, Product Management, Engineering, and external partners, ensuring alignment on goals and expectations.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Experience:
    • 10–15 years of experience in technical project management or technical pre-sales, preferably in the payments or fintech industry.
    • A proven track record of successfully delivering system integration projects from concept to launch.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Hands-on experience integrating third-party services with REST, SOAP, and other APIs.
    • Advanced SQL skills for data analysis and troubleshooting.
    • Expertise in bridging the gap between technology and business requirements, with a solid understanding of software development practices.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into actionable steps.
    • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated success in managing multiple priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Agile Expertise:
    • Experience working in Scrum/Agile environments, with the flexibility to pivot as priorities change.
    • Comfort with organizing sprints, tracking dependencies, and ensuring transparency across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Technology or Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scrum Master Certification.
