Job Summary

The Senior Technical Consultant role exists to deliver expert technical solutions and guidance that enable clients to maximise the value of our products and services. This role is pivotal in translating complex business requirements into practical, scalable, and efficient technical implementations.

By aligning technical delivery with strategic business goals, the Technical Consultant supports the organisation's objectives of driving customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and long-term client retention. The role ensures that solutions are not only technically sound but also commercially viable and aligned with evolving client needs.

Technical Consultants work closely with customers, project managers, and cross-functional teams- including sales, product development, and support- to ensure seamless integration and delivery of solutions. They act as trusted advisors, fostering strong relationships through clear communication, technical credibility, and a deep understanding of customer environments.

What you will do

  • Design and deliver implementation services across a wide range of clients and technologies.
  • Acts as a mentor and technical escalation point in all areas where they are considered a subject matter expert, providing expert-level knowledge in respect to issue resolution, standards, design, best practice, delivering quality and reference target architectures.
  • Working collaboratively with Sales, Projects Practice, Pre-Sales, Customers and other parties as required.
  • Creation of technical documentation as and when required.
  • Supporting/reviewing PS Costings sheet
  • Low Level Designs
  • Statement of Works (SoW)
  • Involvement and running of project design workshops.
  • Presenting back technical documentation to customers.
  • Renew/upgrade required certifications.
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring that assigned projects are executed and completed within agreed time, quality, scope and costs parameters.
  • To assist in the design of Proof of Concept to support the delivery of a solution.
  • To create/support the creation of test documentation and test scenarios.
  • Ensures personal and business objectives and set KPI targets are met or exceeded.
  • Proactively questions and evaluates existing systems, standards, documentation and procedures and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Acts as a coach/mentor for other co-workers.

  • Demonstrable skills and knowledge in relevant technology area
  • Professional certifications e.g. Cisco CCDA, MS-500, MS AI102.
  • Previous Professional Services / Consultancy role experience
  • Quality focused with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to provide technical leadership in their SME area.
  • Ability to effectively manage own time.
  • Ability to develop and build relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Works well as part of a team and can be self-motivated when required.
  • Continually looks for opportunities for self-improvement and innovation.
  • Be eligible for Security Clearance.

    • Apps, Flows, AI Prompts, Dataverse, Copilot Studio, Solutions and ALM, Security and Governance, Power Automate Desktop, Power BI
  • Azure Logic Apps and Azure Functions
  • Purview and Others
    • Purview stack including around Azure Information Protection
  • Coding skills - C#, PowerShell, Python, JavaScript/HTML/CSS
  • Migrations and modernisation
    • e.g. ShareGate, SPMT, Migration Manager etc
    • Other workflow/automation tools e.g. Nintex

Highly desirable:

  • Other AI related areas e.g. Azure Foundry
  • Power Pages
  • Fabric Engineer related knowledge
  • Developer background

This involves increasing billable utilization to support both project delivery and organizational profitability, while ensuring that all work adheres to consistent process compliance for maintaining quality, reducing risks, and meeting governance standards. Strong commercial awareness is demonstrated through proactive budget management, accurate forecasting, and timely invoicing, ensuring financial control across all projects. Additionally, maintaining up-to-date technical skills and relevance within the technical community and marketplace is essential. By aligning technical delivery with strategic business goals, fostering strong client relationships, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, the Senior Technical Consultant plays a pivotal role in achieving operational excellence and supporting the organization's broader objectives.
