Our strategy is focused on delivering strong underwriting performance, operating an efficient and flexible marketplace, and maximising the capital advantage of the Lloyd’s market — while continuing to build a Lloyd’s we are proud of.

Join our Strategy team and help shape the future of the Lloyd’s market.

As a Senior Associate in the Strategy team, you’ll turn data, research and insight into meaningful action. You’ll analyse global insurance markets, market participants, emerging trends and strategic opportunities, providing the intelligence that helps Lloyd’s make informed decisions and supports long-term profitable growth across the market.

This is a highly visible role where your work will influence senior stakeholders across Lloyd’s and the wider insurance industry. You’ll combine curiosity, commercial thinking and analytical expertise to uncover insights that matter, helping us understand where the market is today and where it could go next.

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver quantitative and qualitative analysis to support Lloyd’s strategic priorities and market development activities.
  • Research and monitor global insurance market trends, competitor activity, economic developments and emerging opportunities.
  • Produce market intelligence and briefings on syndicates, managing agents, brokers, regions, market segments and prospective market participants.
  • Build clear, evidence-based recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
  • Present complex analysis through reports, presentations and data visualisations that influence a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Use analytical, business intelligence and AI-enabled tools to improve insight generation and increase efficiency.
  • Maintain and enhance reporting tools and dashboards, helping colleagues and market participants self-serve intelligence and data.
  • Respond to intelligence and data requests from internal stakeholders and Lloyd’s market participants, ensuring compliance with data governance and competition law requirements.
  • Support strategic relationships with external partners and intelligence providers.
  • Promote the team’s insights, tools and resources, helping drive engagement and adoption across the Corporation and market.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be someone who enjoys asking questions, connecting different sources of information and turning complexity into clear insights.

We’d also like to see:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative research skills.
  • High levels of data literacy, with the ability to interpret, analyse and communicate data effectively.
  • Experience gathering, analysing and synthesising information from multiple sources.
  • The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and confidently to different audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with data analysis, business intelligence or visualisation tools.
  • Knowledge of insurance and reinsurance markets, particularly the London Market or Lloyd’s environment.

What sets you apart

  • You’re intellectually curious and commercially aware.
  • You enjoy solving problems and finding new ways to answer business questions.
  • You can balance strategic thinking with practical delivery.
  • You’re comfortable working with both data and people.
  • You take ownership, build trusted relationships and focus on outcomes.

Being inclusive at Lloyd’s is integral to how we work — and how we deliver impact.
We aim to build a diverse, inclusive environment that reflects the global markets we serve, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and supported to reach their full potential.

We take the risk by challenging traditional thinking and being proactive about inclusion. That means being open and positive about workplace adjustments, prioritising health and wellbeing, and investing in diversity and inclusion training so everyone feels able to contribute and succeed.

We make things happen by turning our commitment into action. Through employee networks, mentoring, volunteering opportunities and sustained investment in professional development, we create an environment where inclusion is experienced day‑to‑day — not just talked about.

We own the outcome by focusing on impact. By bringing together diverse perspectives and the best minds in the industry, we work collaboratively with underwriters and brokers to create innovative, responsive solutions that share risk and solve complex problems across global markets.
