What You Will Get To Do:
  • Administer and support large IBM i (iSeries/IBMi) environments to ensure system stability, performance, and security.
  • Perform operating system upgrades, patching activities, and manage Program Temporary Fixes (PTFs) and cumulative PTF packages.
  • Monitor system performance including CPU, memory, storage, and disk utilization, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Manage backup and recovery operations using BRMS or equivalent tools, including disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Configure and maintain LPAR environments, TCP/IP networking, and connected system devices.
  • Create and maintain user profiles, security settings, and access controls in accordance with security policies and compliance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IBM i hardware, software, and infrastructure-related issues while coordinating with vendors and support teams as required.
What You Will Bring:
  • 2+ years of IBM i (iSeries/IBMi) system administration experience.
  • Experience with IBM i OS upgrades, PTF management, security administration, and performance tuning.
  • Strong understanding of IBM Power Systems architecture and core IBM i technologies.
  • Experience using BRMS or equivalent backup and recovery solutions.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery planning, execution, and testing.
  • Experience managing LPAR environments and TCP/IP configurations.
  • Knowledge of IBM i security concepts including user authorities, object security, auditing, and system monitoring tools.
  • Exposure to IBM i scripting or automation technologies such as CL, SQL, or RPG would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
