Make Your Mark:
The Solutions Consultant is a customer-facing, pre-sales role supporting prospects across UKI as they evaluate BlackLine’s Invoice to Cash solutions. Partnering closely with the Sales team, this person uncovers each prospect’s real business challenges, demonstrates how BlackLine solves them, and helps guide deals from first conversation through to a confident buying decision. Invoice to Cash is one of BlackLine’s fastest-growing areas, and this hire will have real input into how the EMEA team’s practices take shape as it scales.You'll Get To:
- Own the pre-sales solution-consulting process end to end for prospects evaluating BlackLine’s Invoice to Cash solutions across the UKI territory, partnering closely with the Sales team throughout each deal;
- Run needs-analysis conversations with prospects to uncover their real business challenges, then translate those into a clear, tailored solution recommendation;
- Design and deliver product demonstrations and Proof of Concept engagements, using prospect data where possible, to show how BlackLine addresses each prospect’s specific needs;
- Own or contribute to RFI/RFP responses, bringing technical accuracy and a high level of attention to detail to every submission;
- Complete ROI analyses and business cases that help prospects build an internal case for investment;
- Build deep product and domain expertise through BlackLine’s implementation-certification program, the same training completed by BlackLine’s own delivery consultants, and keep pace with a fast-evolving product roadmap;
- Partner with the Implementation/Customer Success team to validate that proposed solutions are deliverable, supporting a smooth handoff from sale to onboarding.
What You'll Bring:
- Background as a pre-sales/solution consultant, sales engineer, or similar customer-facing consulting role, or senior experience in credit or AR management with hands-on delivery/implementation exposure. A blend of both is a plus; we don’t expect every candidate to have both;
- A track record of uncovering a customer’s real business challenge, guiding them to a clear recommendation, and articulating the resulting business impact;
- High attention to detail, particularly when presenting figures, calculations, or written materials to prospects. Accuracy builds trust when the claim on the table is a significant cost saving;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to build trust with prospects and internal stakeholders alike;
- Comfortable working at pace and managing a high volume of concurrent opportunities in a fast-moving sales environment;
- Travel to customer sites, workshops, and industry events across the UKI (and wider EMEA as needed) to support in-person evaluations (~15–20% of time).
