WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US   

As our new Senior Software Engineer, you will join SimCorp's Product Division, in the Platform Automation department. Here, you will join a cross-functional agile team based in Copenhagen, Kyiv and Manila. Your team is responsible for building a continuous delivery pipeline for our core products in Cloud and you will be working in close co-operation with your colleagues across different locations. You will provide input into our technical vision and direction. We value good craftsmanship.  

Your team owns the SimCorp Dimension (SCD) Delivery Pipeline. A platform for end-to-end automation that enables the development, testing, and release of consistent product versions at scale. This is your opportunity to make a tangible impact on how SimCorp delivers software to clients worldwide, working on tooling and infrastructure that directly supports hundreds of engineers across the organisation. 

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Design, develop, test, and continuously enhance our applications and pipelines, driving forward both reliability and capability. 

  • Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager, Product Owner, System Architect, and other stakeholders to translate product vision into technical requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. 

  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level colleagues, raising the technical bar across the team. 

  • Apply your expertise across all stages of the development lifecycle from reviewing user stories and design to code reviews and automated testing. 

  • Ensure code quality and technical excellence. Research tools and frameworks to enable future innovation. 

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, and apply this knowledge to improve our solutions and practices.

Technical Skills that we are looking for 

  • Experience working with software development using one or more modern programming languages (We mostly use C#). 

  • Experience implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. 

  • Build Automation: Experience with build automation tools and practices. 

  • Design Patterns: Knowledge of common design patterns and best practices in software architecture. 

  • Testing: Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD). 

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong understanding of IaC principles and practices. 

  • Our Tech stack : 

  • Git: Proficient in using Git for source control, including branching and merging strategies. 

  • TeamCity: Proficiency in setting up, managing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using TeamCity or another similar tool. 

  • Azure: Experience working with Azure services, including computing, storage, networking, and databases. 

  • PowerShell: Experience in scripting with PowerShell for automation and administration tasks. 

  • Cake: Proficiency in using Cake (C# Make) for build automation. 

  • Kotlin: Competence in Kotlin for application development, particularly for backend services. 

  • Claude and Copilot 

 

Soft Skills 

  • Experience in guiding junior developers and providing technical guidance. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively interacting with team members, stakeholders, and clients. 

  • Ability to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Ability to identify issues, take ownership and develop effective solutions. 

  • Experience working in agile development environments. 

 

DESIRABLE  

  • Security Awareness - Understanding of security best practices and how to implement them in software development. 

  • Performance Optimization - Skills in optimizing code and systems for performance and scalability. 

  • Documentation - Ability to create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation. 

  • Desirable technology experience: Kubernetes, Docker, Elastic Search, C#, Terraform/Bicep.
