About this role

Within the Aladdin Product Group – Private Markets, we are hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to work on a critical application of the Aladdin Software suite: eFront Invest

The position is based in Paris and operates as a part of a global engineering organization distributed over several countries all over the world.

eFront Invest is the main application for Private Markets Investment Management within BlackRock Aladdin. It handles all Private Market asset class investments, end to end, from the Fund Raising through the Deal Flow, Fund management and Accounting.

The role is a hands-on senior individual contributor to the eFront Invest platform and features. It requires deep understanding of the technical aspects of a web-based software deployed in the cloud, but also strong software architecture knowledge and advance notions of Product Delivery Life Cycle.

About you

You are an experienced software engineer who is comfortable working on large, long-lived systems where correctness, traceability, and operational stability matter as much as delivery speed. You enjoy understanding how data flows through systems, how workflows interact across services, and how design decisions affect downstream consumers. You are able to work autonomously in complex codebases, while collaborating closely with peers across engineering, product, and QA. You are not afraid to get into substantial code based, with the help of AI tools, to understand, enhance, fix and develop new product features.

As a senior engineer, you contribute through hands-on development, sound technical judgement, and constructive collaboration, rather than through formal authority. You take ownership of the quality of your work and understand the impact it has on business-critical workflows.

Technologies you will work with (hands-on)

  • C#, VB.NET
  • Visual Studio, VS Code
  • .NET Framework 4.x and .NET (.NET Core)
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • TypeScript / JavaScript / HTML / CSS
  • Cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure), containerised environments,
  • Kubernetes
  • Azure DevOps pipelines and release tooling
  • Agile / Scrum ways of working

What you will be doing

  • Designing and implementing features within Invest, focusing on enhancing the platform and the operation capacity of the product.
  • Working across the full software lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident investigation
  • Contributing to the evolution of core platform architecture, configuration, and customization capacities.
  • Writing clear, maintainable code and contributing to automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
  • Diagnosing issues in existing systems, including legacy Invest components, and improving them incrementally and safely
  • Participating actively in code reviews and technical discussions
  • Collaborating closely with engineers, architects, product partners, and QA across locations
  • Leverage AI tools and IDEs to maximize your productivity and deliver quality features on time.

What you bring

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
  • Extensive professional experience building and supporting production software systems (typically 10+ years)
  • Strong ability to independently navigate and understand complex, existing codebases
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in data-centric and workflow-driven systems
  • Experience working on systems where data quality, auditability, and operational reliability are critical
  • Professional fluency in English, written and spoken
