About this role

Role Overview:  

This role sits within Preqin, a part of BlackRock. Preqin plays a key role in how we are revolutionizing private markets data and technology for clients globally, complementing our existing Aladdin technology platform to deliver investment solutions for the whole portfolio.  

As a Vice President in Preqin’s Client Engagement team, you will own and grow our most strategic client relationships across France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and French speaking Switzerland. This client facing role focuses on building trusted partnerships with leading institutional investors and asset managers, delivering data driven solutions across private markets and analytics. Working closely with the Preqin Business Development and Aladdin Client Business teams, you will drive adoption, engagement, and sustainable growth in one of Preqin’s most strategic European markets. 

Key responsibilities:  

  • Ownership of Preqin’s strategic relationships including engagement, client satisfaction, retention and growth 
  • Establish governance with senior stakeholders and business leads 
  • Builds a deep understanding of client’s strategic objectives and the applicability of Preqin in the client’s investment workflows and analytics 
  • Sets commercial and engagement strategy for client accounts 
  • Accountable for managing the renewal process 
  • Identifies upselling opportunities and partners with Business Development to drive harvesting targets, and jointly execute the upsell opportunities 
  • Preempt churn risk through deep understanding of adoption and needs of the client; Coordinate adoption and service efforts with Client Experience and Service to drive successful client outcomes 
  • Partner with Marketing to influence and ensure effective campaigns that strengthen client engagement efforts 
  • Collaborate with Product, Data, Engineering and other teams by sharing client feedback, themes and trends to help shape our roadmap and priorities 
  • Partners and coordinates with Aladdin and BlackRock teams on joint clients and commercial opportunities  

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Native level French and professional English proficiency required; additional European language skills are a plus 
  • 5+ years of sales experience in a sales and/or account management role within financial services, alternative investments, or B2B SaaS sales  
  • Demonstrable success and a record of hitting quota and sales target 
  • Negotiation skills as it relates to upsells and cross-selling.  
  • Working knowledge of the financial market data space, alternative assets, and financial services industries  
  • Robust interpersonal skills and strong professional acumen with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable liaising with both BlackRock's clients and colleagues at all levels.  
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills with a thirst and aptitude for problem solving and willingness to go the deliver positive outcomes  
  • Accountable, motivated, diligent and results driven work ethic  
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage and control their own priorities to meet deadlines  
  • A desire to be a phenomenal team mate, able to integrate and build rapport quickly  
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft software such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Information Technology skills

Our hybrid work model
