Overview
The Smart Data Real card Account Management (SDRAM) team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to drive our customer experience strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.
Role
Working as part of a team and in collaboration with a Technical Lead, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance of enterprise application software, while following MasterCard's engineering standards and best practices. Responsibilities include the following: • Develop high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions based on technical specifications and design artifacts, delivered within expected timelines and budgets.• Collaborate with the project team to meet delivery milestones, proactively identifying issues and recommending solutions.• Document software components in alignment with software development best practices.• Design and implement automated tests for APIs and user interfaces to validate system functionality and ensure robust test coverage.• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by providing automation tests and supporting quality gates for operations teams.• Follow MasterCard's quality assurance processes and assist in collecting and reporting software metrics.• Continuously improve test automation frameworks and code, including refactoring and implementing complex automation strategies.• Mentor and support the growth of early-career members of the team.
All About You
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in full-stack development and a strong understanding of enterprise software engineering principles. Specifically, you will have some or all of the following:• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.• 5+ years of hands-on experience building scalable, multi-threaded full-stack applications using: UI Development: Angular (or other modern web app framework experience is required); Server-Side: Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Hibernate/JPA; Database: Oracle with PL/SQL; Build & Scripting: Maven/Gradle, Unix/Shell scripts.• Although this is a Full Stack Development role, the focus is primarily on Angular UI development. However, some experience with backend development, especially using Java, is also required. • Strong experience working with SOAP and RESTful APIs.• Familiarity with cloud-native development practices, especially using PCF (or AWS).• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins.• Exposure to test automation frameworks and tools such as Cypress, Selenium, Rest-Assured, TestNG, Postman, or Insomnia.• Proficiency in AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity, code quality, and accelerate problem-solving during the software development lifecycle.• Knowledge of industry-standard programming practices and a passion for writing clean, maintainable code.• Solid understanding of Java and microservices design patterns.• Ability to solve complex design problems, innovate, and adapt to new technologies.• Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.• Strong communication skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.
