The Team:
 

C&RS Sales Team for Financial Institutions, is focused on selling the S&P Global Market Intelligence flagship solutions (RatingsDirect, RatingsXpress, CreditPro, Credit Analytics, and Scorecards) in the wide Financial Institution space across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. We are looking for an addition to our regional team who will be selling our market-leading solutions to existing and new customers.

As a Senior Sales Specialist, you will help drive commercial growth across the DACH region by building strong client relationships, identifying revenue opportunities, and positioning our credit and risk solutions to meet the evolving needs of financial institutions. This role has a direct impact on business growth, client retention, and the expansion of our market presence in this strategically important customer segment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent service to existing and potential customers.

  • Identify and execute growth opportunities.

  • Meet or exceed individual growth goals/quotas.

  • Plan and execute sales campaigns.

  • Maintain structured tracking of activity, pipeline accuracy, and forecasting.

  • Identify and develop revenue synergy and cross-sell opportunities.

  • Build and maintain knowledge of industry and economic events impacting clients, and clearly connect the relevance of S&P Global products to their business priorities and market challenges.

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and internal stakeholders, including Product Experts, Product Management, Marketing, Legal, and Client Support teams, to deliver strong commercial outcomes for clients.

  • Use sound judgment in day-to-day sales activity, take initiative to identify issues or areas for improvement, and apply solutions with an end-to-end view of the client and sales process.

  • Communicate complex solution value clearly and effectively to a range of audiences, while building credibility as a trusted partner to clients and internal colleagues.

  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
     

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 6+ years of experience in RatingsDirect, RatingsXpress, CreditPro, Credit Analytics, and Scorecards in the wide Financial Institution space in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

  • Fluency in English and German. Nordic or Eastern European native speakers would also be of interest.

  • Strong sales execution skills, including the ability to manage pipeline activity, maintain forecasting discipline, and consistently deliver against commercial objectives.

  • Able to engage with and influence peers, immediate leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to achieve common goals.

  • Able to work effectively with incomplete or evolving information, while identifying practical options in non-routine situations.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain fairly complex or technical information within a specialized sales environment.

  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
     

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in selling Market Data to Financial Institutions is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of Credit Risk and fixed income markets is an advantage.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements, seek out new opportunities for innovation, and translate market or client insight into commercial action.

  • Experience coaching, guiding, or positively influencing colleagues while ensuring team priorities are considered alongside individual goals.

  • Resilience, professionalism, and a positive mindset when working through challenges, setbacks, or changing client circumstances.
