To strengthen our Risk & Internal Audit team, we are looking for a Senior Risk Officer. Y

Your role:

You will play a key role in implementing the global risk management framework across JERA Nex bp, by enhancing and embedding risk management practices, and by strengthening risk awareness across the organization

  • Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the corporate risk management framework (policies, procedures, methodologies, etc.).

  • Facilitate risk identification, assessment, treatment, monitoring, and reporting across all business functions (finance, legal, IT, HR, sustainability, investments, projects, operations, etc.), acting as a trusted advisor.

  • Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of corporate risk registers, ensuring risks are appropriately owned and addressed.

  • Prepare consolidated risk reports and dashboards for senior management and Board Committees, providing independent assurance on the management of risks within the defined risk appetite (incl. timely escalation of risks that exceed risk tolerance levels).

  • Lead topical or cross-functional risk management initiatives and assessments. Monitor industry trends, lessons learned, and emerging threats affecting offshore wind development.

  • Promote a proactive and embedded risk culture across all levels of the company.

  • Assess the potential implementation of digital risk management tools.

Your profile:

We are looking for someone who combines analytical strength with strong communication skills and a passion for renewable energy. You ideally bring: 

  • A master’s degree in a relevant field.

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in risk management.

  • A curious, analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience in programme management – leading multifunctional working groups and working with a global team – is a plus.

  • A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • A genuine interest in renewable energy, including its technical, financial, and regulatory dimensions.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Dutch, German, or Japanese is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
