Lead and coordinate regulatory change across Vanguard Europe: assess regulatory impacts, design and implement business solutions, manage stakeholder workstreams, produce documentation and executive communications, run design workshops, mentor junior staff, and execute project plans with programme managers.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping Vanguard navigate an evolving regulatory landscape and deliver regulatory change across our European business. The successful candidate will partner with stakeholders across the organisation to assess regulatory developments, understand their implications, and support the design and implementation of effective business solutions.
This role will (i) help Vanguard assess the implications of regulations, (ii) consider how to incorporate regulatory considerations into Vanguard’s processes and (iii) ensure appropriate disclosure of these activities in reporting deliverables. Ultimately this role will fulfil the mandate to effectively implement regulatory change across our European business.

In this role you will:
- Lead change workstreams, analysing regulation to understand the key implications, and plan, schedule, coordinate, and manage activities required to deliver the project.
- Collaborate closely with representatives across IMG (Investment Management Group), Stewardship, PRD (Portfolio Review Department), OGC (Office of the General Counsel), Data, Distribution and Technology teams to understand where change is required to meet European regulatory requirements.
- Produce detailed documentation to record requirements and prepare executive-level communications to summarise the high-level impact.
- Lead workshops to design implementation solutions to incorporate considerations across the business.
- Coach and support junior members of the team regarding best practice of business analysis and project management.
- Develop, manage and execute project plans (working closely with programme managers) and define the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders.
- Benefit from coaching and mentorship from Vanguard Europe’s senior management within the Finance organisation.
What it takes/qualifications:
- Minimum of four years' related work experience, including evidence of independently leading regulatory change initiatives, managing complex stakeholder groups, strong technical understanding of wealth and asset management industry and technical regulations.
- Experience in asset management highly desirable.
- Diligent, with a high attention to detail.
- Able to think critically and strategically, navigate ambiguity and identify interdependencies.
- Effective communicator, able to articulate challenges and solutions simply and clearly.
- Able to see and understand the big picture, while being able to deep-dive into the detail.
- Able to build and develop strong relationships across diverse partner teams.
- Highly organised, and good at managing and influencing stakeholders.
- A self-starter, able to independently identify and progress workstreams.
- Ambitious and eager to develop your career.
- An inherent focus on strategic delivery with an ability to ‘join the dots’ across the organisation, especially against specific risk management, governance and board reporting requirements.
